Another thing on scorecard-how many of you have played with someone is only wanting to verify the total score? The first thing I do is put an X in block where side total and gross goes. You as a player are only responsible for hole by hole score, committee is responsible for total. Imagine if I flip flopped a par 5 & par 3 score. Total would be the same but hole scores would not. Have not personally witnessed this but it did happen to a guy I know about 15 years ago in WA. rules also state scores must be clearly legible, nothing about initialing changes, and besides whose initials. That is really a pet peeve of mine. I always score with a sharpie so the idea of someone changing a score is not even possible.
