Very happy with my course assignments. Thank you for the early release. See everyone at the Beach.
August 19, 2016 at 6:47 pm #35939Bob TillmonParticipantHas anyone NOT received their assignments? I’m waiting.
August 19, 2016 at 7:06 pm #35942David RollinsParticipantNo email yet but the course assignments are on the tournament app.
August 19, 2016 at 7:34 pm #35943Josh WurzbergerParticipantI feel a little shafted on my courses.
Blackmoor
River Hills
Heathland
Pawleys Plantation.Any input on these courses would be great. I’ve never played them.
August 19, 2016 at 7:59 pm #35946Tom McCainParticipantDavid Rollins, where on the app?
August 19, 2016 at 7:59 pm #35947william shawParticipantWhy would course assignments not be put on the Website at the same time ??????
August 19, 2016 at 8:27 pm #35952David RollinsParticipantMY Tournament Tab will list your course assignments
August 19, 2016 at 8:31 pm #35954Rick KimbrellParticipantJosh Wurzberger, why do you feel shafted? I have played all of the courses you are going to play. Blackmoor is tight, some undulation, not a lot of housing last time I was there. Really enjoyed the course but you have to hit it straight.
River Hills has more undulation. Fair amount of water. Very nice layout.
Legends Heathland – to start with it is a Legends course on the Legends property and all of them are generally always in good condition. I like all Legends courses. Heathland is more open than the first 2 you will play but still enough trouble to make you have to think where you are hitting it.
Pawleys – Low Country Jack Nicklaus course. Good 4th round course. Some open holes, some tight holes, some small greens. Their signature par 3 will make you think hard about club selection.
Sorry, just don’t see why you should feel shafted unless you thought you were going to get Caledonia, True Blue, Tidewater, and TPC. And, curious why you feel that way. I’m not trying to be an a$$ either.August 19, 2016 at 8:41 pm #35959Tom McCainParticipantDavid, I didn’t save my login. Still cant access the My tournament. That’s a point I will bring up to committee.
August 19, 2016 at 8:44 pm #35961David RollinsParticipantTom, do you not have the email from Monday? Sorry if you don’t. I have not seen a tournament wide listing as of yet.
August 19, 2016 at 8:57 pm #35965Aaron EllisParticipantTom your login is your same info you used for Handicap Verification, Player # and the Password they gave ya.
I agree with Rick K on your courses Josh W.
Blackmoor is a well known gem that a ton of people in the Myrtle Beach area love, has some risk reward holes. River Hills is one my favorites in MB as well, ive always played well there for some reason, but like he said quite a bit of water, but can score well if you can hit the ball well, Heathland being a Legends course will be a better course and Pawleys Plantation is one of the nicer courses you can play in the Grand Strand, If you rated them based on people getting an A, 2 Bs and 1 C, id actually say you got and A in Pawleys and 3 B’s in the other 3, id feel good with those 4 course! On the other hand I did luck up and get some decent courses myself for flight 8,
Sea Trail – Byrd which will probably be the worst, ive heard that Sea Trail has struggled in the past with their greens due to they are bent grass, so we shall see
Prestwick, which I played back in Jan in the cold ass weather and it windy as hell, and had rained the day prior, course looked amazing and has a nice layout, the conditions sucked that day and so did my golf!
Burning Ridge, never played this course out near Conway, heard mixed reviews
Caledonia – finally in my 3rd year I draw the crème de le crème! Thankfully this is the 4th day, which could either be awesome or awesome, being awesome that I have a chance and it being tough enough that its anyones game, or awesome that if I have played like ass for 3 days that I get the best course on the final day to enjoy some beautiful golf!August 19, 2016 at 9:16 pm #35969Tom McCainParticipantHey guys, I had deleted the email with login info form my primary account. Found it in my gmail. Looking forward to The Possum!!!
August 19, 2016 at 9:25 pm #35972Bill HambrickParticipantTom played TPC in March wSs in Great Shape then but quite a few gators there!!!
August 19, 2016 at 9:43 pm #35977Josh WurzbergerParticipantRick K/Aaron E,
Thank you guys for the info. I do feel much better. Most of those I believe are older so there isn’t as much media out there on them. I have played Legend Mooreland before and it was a blast and hard as hell! I was hoping to score true blue or caledonia. I got rained out at caledonia the first year I played. I played in rivers on the greens there in 2012. Not fun!! We got called after 6 holes I think. I am curious about the 8th hole at Blackmoor. If driver is going ok or it is one of my first holes I will cut the corner through the 30yd gap in trees!
Aaron,
My friend and first timer down Robert Bazal from WI is in flight 7 with your same courses. Look for him. He has a bigger beard then Beef on the European Tour! Prestwick will double roll greens. They will be fast but true. Burning Ridge was nice two years ago.
By the way I wish I was still with you guys in flight 8. I won flight 8 last year!! Peaked at the end of the year nicely. Too bad I went the other direction this year.
August 19, 2016 at 9:51 pm #35979Josh WurzbergerParticipantAaron Ellis,
Would you be willing to give my buddy a ride to courses? I would be able to on wed and thursday. We are staying up at shorecrest across from barefoot landing in north myrtle beach on the ocean. Let me know then he won’t have to rent a car! - AuthorPosts
