Out of simple curiosity, I looked up how many Canadian and UK golfers are signed up. 2 from Canada and 1 from UK. That is so sad for this year but totally understandable considering the health care/insurance issues. To all of my Canadian and UK friends who will not be in MB this year…really going to miss seeing you. COVID sucks!!!August 8, 2020 at 7:14 pm #47872
Rick, it’s not that us Canadians don’t want to come down it is that if we do we have to quarantine for 14 days when we get back. Also for the ones who drive down the land borders are closed. Myself and a buddy come down every year by car. This year he is not going. I am coming down. It is a bit tricky for me to make it this year. I have a 4 hour drive to Toronto to catch my flight. My only non stop flight I can get is into Charlotte NC. I will have a three + hour drive from there. Flights are few and far between as well. So I understand why most are not coming. I won’t miss it for the world. I am retiring on August 14 so quarantine for me won’t be a problem. I will have the honey do list to take care of.August 8, 2020 at 7:18 pm #47873
When you look up Canadian golfers I will not show up. I live in Windsor Ont just across the border to Michigan. My handicap is maintained in Michigan where I play most of my golf.August 17, 2020 at 3:03 pm #48037David BakerParticipant
I was in MB two weeks ago for 6 days. It was refreshing to see some semblance of the way it was before Covid. Restaurants were open, even buffets, with mask and gloves, and crowded. The golf courses were open and have been. Hotels were open and busy as were the beaches. I only witnessed one case, young people congregating in a large group with no masks or social distancing. It appears the the number of Covid case is moderating and SC is not one of the top 5 hot spots currently. So I hope that we all stay healthy and have a great timeAugust 17, 2020 at 5:04 pm #48038benny shepardParticipant

Mike Chessman, I completely understand the situation. Very sad but it is what it is. Just hate it that so many of my friends from past years are from Canada and will not be coming this year.August 17, 2020 at 7:41 pm #48040
Just found out that the one of the two other Canadians dropped out. So it looks like 2 Canucks only this year.
