Food at the 19th

In skimming the board, I have gotten mixed reviews on the food at the 19th. I had planned on making my dinner each night at the CC. Is this a bad idea? I’m a first timer at the tourny, but not to MB

Jon, the best advice I can give you is that some years I have found it to be good, some not so good. You wait in long lines for a tiny portion. My fav is the ice cream, how bad can that be. I go down for 8 days and eat out at least 4-5 times. I am very fortunate to have a roommate who can really cook and we eat in two nights. Not sure how much that helps but it’s the best I can tell ya. The tournament is way better than the food.

If the menu for the night is good, I eat at the convention center, if not I drink, then eat a light sandwich back a the condo. After the initial rush, all the food vendors are trying to push stuff out and there are no lines. Lots of time to socialize then eat is not a bad way to go.

Jon, the worst night for the food lines is Monday. Same goes for the lines at the bars. But, as stated, the later in the evening, the shorter the lines get (or no line at all). If you want to only eat at the convention center…yes, you can make multiple passes at the various food stands and get plenty to eat.
BTW…the ice cream line…it never gets short. It is long every night.

I like to follow the old adage, “Life is short, eat dessert first”. So I get my ice cream when I first go in the CC, when the line is short,, then I go in for the rest. It’s always worked for me.

Thanks Scott. Jim the menues are from last year. I noticed the days didn’t match the date.
