For a first timer can you all suggest the best place to stay?

I personally recommend VRBO. Their prices are as good or better than most hotels and you get the advantage of a normal house, kitchen etc. If you travelling with another golfer the pricing looks really good, but they usually have some pretty good rates that one person can handle.

There are so many options. As Tommy said VRBO is always a good way to go, but since COVID there are a lot less VRBO offerings this year. A lot depends on where and what you want. If an ocean view is important then the options are limitless. I prefer staying central eg: near town and the convention center. For this I’ve stayed in Myrtlewood for several years. This works because you are close to the 19th hole and being central means you won’t have as long a drive to some of the courses. There is always one and sometimes 2 of your rounds will be in NC. If you are on the south side of MB that can be a Looooong drive. Typically you have at least 1 of your 4 courses north, at least 1 south and 1 central and the 4th, one of the above.
