Hey guys!!
How about we ask MR. Scott to have that radio station to try to get spectators to come out to the final round, put up ropes for barricades so people could fall the players around the course. They could collect money for charity’s in the area, sell drinks and we could walk the course like the pros
Well!! Well what ya think?
Someone call Scott. Let’s get this rollingMay 21, 2021 at 10:46 pm #49143Ken WeatherfordParticipantLove the idea, but in past years, there have been some older, injured, unhealthy players that probably shouldn’t have been playing at all. I can see if you have a walking event which I would love, there would be a greater portion that wouldn’t want to walk because age or other health-related issues I also am not sure whether you can get the courses to all spectator traffic on their courses. Just what I have observed over the years.
May 22, 2021 at 7:40 am #49145Raymond BlankParticipantKen. I’m not saying all the course, just the final round on Friday
May 22, 2021 at 8:02 am #49146Ken WeatherfordParticipantYeah, Ray, I got the last-day idea. Not sure there wold be many spectators, but I’m still with you. I was in the final in 2016. Was the first and only year it wasn’t played…hurricane off the coast.
We started the first hole, took three shots, and we were done. Ponding was horrible within those three shots, and they called it. There are rules officials on every hole, which was kind of cool.
May 22, 2021 at 3:56 pm #49150Chuck NesbitParticipantI have been using Angel Soft toilet paper and Old Spice deodorant since 1980, should they be sending me my 40 year discount soon?
Why does a player deserve a discount after 14 years? And why are you bragging about your income?
May 22, 2021 at 5:37 pm #49152Raymond BlankParticipantChuck ?? What are you talking about
No one here is bragging about anything. Are you sure your on the correct section ??
Have a great day !!May 22, 2021 at 5:46 pm #49153Raymond BlankParticipantKen can ya throw a brother a bone. Lol. Ray. 😜😂😅🤪
May 22, 2021 at 6:20 pm #49155Ken WeatherfordParticipantChuck, get a grip! You have to chase me around to every forum question to make another senseless point? You have been nothing but a pain since Ken Delaney made a comment about a discount. I was just making a point that you are getting on everyone’s last nerve. You aren’t the only one that has a say in these forums. If you disagree, just say you disagree.
This is an open forum. I don’t believe I bragged about my income. Did I say how much I make? I don’t believe I did. I believe I just said that I am able to live better because I look for deals that you apparently don’t get.
I didn’t complain about not getting a discount. Get your story straight, please. Go read what I said again. I was just an advocate for getting one, based on what Ken Delaney said. That discount would also include many others, not just me.
Sure Ray! I’ll throw you bone…even buy you a drink. lol
May 23, 2021 at 11:34 am #49160Chuck NesbitParticipant“That’s probably why I am in the top 20% of wage earners in America; without a degree, by the way. I learned wisely how to spend (and earn) my cash.” – Ken
May 23, 2021 at 12:40 pm #49161Ken WeatherfordParticipantYes, Chuck, I am very proud of those accomplishments, and as I thought, I didn’t mention my income. If you worked hard to achieve the same goals and came from basically nothing, I am sure you would be proud to tell others about your success, as well. I also happen to coach others on how to build online businesses. So, I also like to give back.
Apparently, you were offended that I mentioned I am in a certain % income bracket and perhaps you aren’t. It was not my intent to offend you, in any case. My comment wasn’t about the success of those accomplishments, although it was extremely hard to do so. It was about what I have done to reach them, since you don’t seem to get the same discounts I do. I believe you missed my entire point. My point is that I have saved thousands of dollars getting discounts that many don’t even look for…and yes, I happened to agree with Ken Delaney’s comments.
If you really add up the numbers (tournament costs) and factor in the charges, the WAM could easily offer a loyalty benefit at some point. Let me reiterate. I did not ask for a discount. I simply support it for those that have played and supported this tournament for many, many years. Without them, there never would be a tournament of this type.
I also don’t agree with people having to pay for the 19th Hole events if we don’t use the service. However, we do anyway. So, keep my tickets and give me a discount. There are plenty of people that want the tickets, and will pay for them, by the way. I am guessing the get them for other family members or buds that want to drink alcohol with for free. Have to admit that free alcohol is a big attractor for that event, and I took advantage of it the first year.
I am just saying, “don’t make me pay for it, now.” Give my ticket to someone else. Here’s another one for you. Take me out of the Earlybird prizes. I have everything they are giving away. Don’t care about any of them. I could go on and on about what I am being charged for that I don’t use, want, or need. I am just paying for everyone else’s freebies.
I don’t need a new WAM shirt, jacket, golf balls, etc. If I had an option, I would eliminate paying for things I don’t want. How much would my entry cost then? Have I made my point, yet? I hope I have. I don’t need a discount for discount’s sake. No one pays for things they don’t want or use, and loyalty is a good idea for things like this. Thanks Ken for bringing this up.
Get it?
May 23, 2021 at 12:50 pm #49162Ken DelaneyParticipantExcellent points made Ken. I wholeheartedly agree and you’re welcome for bringing it up.
What I really want people to know is that the WA is offering $50 off the early bird pricing of $559 to new players who haven’t signed up yet. And for those new players who have ALREADY signed up, well, I guess you all are just sol….
May 23, 2021 at 3:48 pm #49163Scott T. – World AmKeymasterKen D. – I tried calling the day after this thread began because some conversations are easier over the phone. I did not get a hold of you. I’ll share here and close this topic since it’s gotten off track.
I removed the code you listed here publicly because it should be used by people who learn about the event through our marketing efforts, not a public forum.
This is very similar to us giving $50 for referrals. So (to Ken) your 3 new players will get you $50 each, or if they heard it on the radio using the code its $50 direct to them. Still $150 being given away. Either way people will walk away a winner!
We have to advertise the event somehow and more importantly know what ads work. Nearly all new participants take advantage of the referral program which means a LOT of loyal players earn discounts. 50x more than any codes we advertise for what its worth.
We are appreciative of all participants. We do this to grow the tournament for the future in hopes of attaining new golfers to Myrtle Beach for years to come. If you have questions feel free to call us directly. We are happy to chat.
