Seems a few years back the WA was holding the number of player per flight around 48. Looking at several flights this year, more than 50 players in several of the flights I checked. I believe my flight has 54. Will make for a longer day.

There is a flight with 59 and it’s co flight has 53. That’s makes a very long day. These flights are in the 49 and under and have a spread of almost 3 index points. That’s why I posted that the WA should include ages 54 and down like every golf association

Tony, thank you for the feedback.

As you can imagine the logistics, planning, and execution that goes into the amount of players, flights, and divisions we currently offer is absolutely enormous. The age divisions offered currently are already substantial, but doubling that number of divisions by going to 5-year age gaps would be nearly impossible to manage effectively.

Not talking about a 5 year age gap. Just follow all golf associations and put 54 and under together instead of 49 and under

The one thing I noticed is the JFF flight (62) has 100+ golfers…now I get the JFF is for fun, but many in the flight do take it seriously. I’m playing it with my son since we live 3 time zones apart and can’t golf together often. 100+ golfers will make for 4 long rounds. Not sure why the JFF wasn’t split into 2 or more flights like last year with as many golfers as there are in the JFF?

Ken – all courses have around 100-112 players. JFF will play identical to everyone else. There was no clerical reason to split it into two flights but we will award prizes as if there are two.

Each day at each course, there are two flights of approximately 52 golfers in each flight or 104 golfers on the course. So it sounds like the JFF is comparable to everyone else. And yes, it is a minimum of 5 hours for everyone and I think the “par” for the time to play is actually 5 1/2 hours. Hope you enjoy the week with your son and it would be my dream to play with my son for 4 days and I wouldn’t care one second about how long it would take.

Are people really coming here for 4hr rounds? If so you need to adjust expectations now

Not sure about the 4 hour rounds, my comment was about longer that normal rounds (generally). Never expected 4 hours there or any where anymore unfortunately. The answers were spot on and makes perfect sense. I expect all rounds to be long as they have been previously. I’m just looking forward to enjoying golf with family and making new friends…and as long as the drink cart keeps rotating…it will all be good!!!
