Has anyone heard or know if we are going to have a Pre World Party at Boardwalk at the Beach. Or maybe it has not been determined yet.
April 24, 2021 at 12:31 pm #49000William MorrisonParticipantI hope that the pre-am party is on. I missed it the last time that I was in the World Am.
April 29, 2021 at 6:19 pm #49033Ron SchnebeltParticipantI checked on that and due to the uncertainties of COVID it’s not happening
May 5, 2021 at 1:47 pm #49042David BakerParticipantRon, that doesn’t make much sense, SC is open, restaurants and other businesses. If held outdoors why is it any different than restaurants? They are going to have the 19th hole and I would think that would present a greater risk than a gathering out doors.
May 8, 2021 at 12:17 pm #49063Danny FoxParticipantScott, can you give us anymore answers on the Kick off party?
May 10, 2021 at 7:59 am #49069Scott T. – World AmKeymasterWe do not intend to have the kickoff party right now.
May 10, 2021 at 8:14 am #49070Danny FoxParticipantthanks for the reply, maybe next year.
May 20, 2021 at 11:49 pm #49134Ken WeatherfordParticipantBooooo! I agree! Doesn’t make sense.
May 22, 2021 at 7:46 pm #49156Rick KimbrellParticipantReally hope the WA will consider having it. Watching the PGA Championship this afternoon (held in South Carolina) there were more people around the 18th green and in the hospitality tents than we would have at a pre-AM party.
May 23, 2021 at 3:55 pm #49164Scott T. – World AmKeymasterIt is currently off the table and constantly being considered. But until we feel we can do so safely I would not count on it. Its exponentially less space for the same amount of people compared to the 19th hole. Will certainly keep everyone in the loop.
May 25, 2021 at 11:15 am #49170David BakerParticipantScott, it is interesting that you compare an outdoor event to one held inside. That is an odd comparison. If the WA doesn’t want to host the event why doesn’t it just say so? Outdoor events present substantially less risk, so says the science, than indoor. Include the vaccinations of many of the attendees, and you have even a lower risk. I guess following the science only applies when it fits the narrative being put forth.
May 25, 2021 at 2:23 pm #49171Scott T. – World AmKeymasterDavid – There’s 4 indoor businesses in use for it and can be wall to wall people indoors and out. It’s a fun time and we know the players want it. Of course we want to have it. But we are not willing to put participants in a situation we are not comfortable with. So unless we have full control in terms of safety we will not have the party.
May 25, 2021 at 10:07 pm #49174Andreas MealeyParticipantDavid Baker don’t start that science BS,really don’t feel
Scott deserves it.June 1, 2021 at 8:42 am #49190David BakerParticipantAndreas, if asking a legitimate question is BS then I’m sorry you don’t understand or maybe the science, either way you aren’t in any position to tell me I can’t ask a question.
June 1, 2021 at 8:44 am #49191David BakerParticipantScott, thanks for the input. That makes sense.
