Hello all: First timer hear, I picked a hotel called Captains Quarters, it’s like 2.5 miles from the airport and I’ve been reading that it’s much better and safer to be in North Myrtle beach, am I ok where I’m at or could you recommend a better place?

    Thanks,
    Frank

I would recommend something in the Windy Hill section of North Myrtle Beach. It’s relatively central to the north and south courses and has quick access to Hwy 31 which is a bypass freeway which gets you up and down the Grand Strand. If you stay near the airport, it is a trek to the North Carolina courses. Even from Windy Hill, you can get courses that take nearly an hour to get to if you hit traffic, but at least you take the really long drives out of play if you get one of the furthest north courses. An alternative is to wait to see what courses you get and select a hotel afterward. However, I’ve been doing this 33 years and there almost always seems to be a nice mix of north and south courses in the rotation.

Also might depend on your evening plans. If you plan on going to the convention center each night, maybe staying walking distance might be a good idea.

Thanks, I switched to Boardwalk Beach Resort. I checked all the resorts recommended by the World Am, and they didn’t seem to have that much of a bargain. I think this switch was a good one.
