Ken, Thanks for stepping up and handling the skins. Whenever I play, we only play net skins if we play with a low handicapper as that helps us higher handicappers, lol. Given that, as Les states, we are only 1.7 apart, so I would go with gross skins. Thanks again!

No problem. I’ll set it up for Gross. See you guys in MB. I will probably be 2 to 1.6 hours early each day because I do like to warm up, like everyone else. I will keep taking skins money right up until the last second.

Les, if you want to help out, that would be great. I am running Gross Skins. Basic rules are:

Birdie or better to win a skin, if it’s the only birdie or better on the hole.

If two low scores (birdie or better) tie on the same hole, all tie.

Scorecard must be submitted with potential skin(s) hole(s) circled.

All players in the group must sign the scorecard prior to turning it in to me.

Unsigned scorecard(s) will not be accepted for skins payment. If you have a birdie or better, please remember to have all players in your group sign your card.

Payouts will be the next day, except on Thursday. I will stay on Thursday until everyone is paid.

Any day where all skins are capped, the skins money will carry over to the next day.

If you must leave before I have completed my round, I will accept a text message with a picture of the scorecard signed. My cell number is 405-314-9559. I will notify all skins players of this rule when skins are paid.

    Any questions?

If you want to help out, Les, that would be great. My wife may also give us a hand.

I posted the rules in another thread, but I will also bring a copy of them for everyone to have.

Skins will be $100 broken down as $20, $20, $20, and $40 for each day. In other words, payouts will be 20% on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and 40% on Thursday.

Ok, I just found out that the tournament now has tee times, instead of shotgun start. This puts me at an extreme disadvantage, time wise…because I have to get up earlier to be at the course before the first tee time and leave later after every person is in. The option would be to have all scorecards sent via text message for the end of the day. I have two suggestions, and I will allow you all to decide. Either someone else can run skins, or recommend maybe a 5% tip. My time is worth more to me on vacation than spending 7 hours at the course everyday, especially when I have my wife traveling with me.

I have the spreadsheet ready if someone else wants to run them. I will let you guys decide.

    Thanks!

    Ken

One suggestion is to collect skin money on the 1st day only.
This means that if you want in you have to get there earlier on the 1st day. It also doesn’t allow somebody to enter skins on a later day when there might be a carryover from a previous day in which they weren’t entered.

I have made allowances for that in my spreadsheet, Les. I have checkboxes for days that players pay. So, anyone that does not pay for all days on the first day, then it will be indicated in the spreadsheet. Also, paying for separate days and not $100 on the first day, my preference is to charge $5 more, but that might make people angry. But, I have done it before and no one complained. It’s an inconvenience to me to collect daily.

    Thoughts anyone?

I am not in your flight but here is my 2 cents. If anyone doesn’t get in for the whole week and doesn’t get in the first day then decides to get in the second day because there is a carry over from day one shouldn’t be allowed in if there is a carryover. Very unlikely there will be a carryover but if there is then sorry you can’t get in. It protects all the other guys that got in. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck.

Les, paying on the first day is fine, but some people choose to get in on a daily basis (pay for last day instead of the first three, for example, since it has a bigger payout). If we make them pay 1st day, only, then we will certainly get fewer people in skins. It also doesn’t change my time requirements much if I have to stay until the last person is in (unless we have everyone send text message before 6 pm on the day of play). However, that doesn’t change the amount of time I still have to spend calculating the winners list (waiting on text messages). Maybe we can just have everyone pay the first day, only, and have their scorecard texted to me before 5 pm.

Have any idea how long the tee times run?

    Comments?

Yeah, Mike. I have checkboxes for every person for every day they get in. So, I will know when players are trying to get in on a carryover. If they have not paid for the week, I have the checkboxes to indicate whether they played the previous day or not.

Everyone will pay skins on the first day, only. I will stay at the course 1 hour after in finish my round. If I am gone after that hour stay over, players must submit scorecard signed by all players in group, hole(s) circled on real scorecard (no substitute cards), and scorecard must be emailed or texted to me no later than 5 pm. Recommend you text/email me the moment you finish your round, unless I am still at the course (1 hour past completion of my round, only).

With the text/email, state your name, flight, and hole(s) you had birdie, in addition to circling the hole(s) on the card.

My email is ken_weatherford2004@yahoo.com and text is 405-314-9559. Again, please help me notify all players they must enter skins before my tee time on Monday.

There is no other way for me to collect skins money on Monday, unless everyone shows up before the first tee time.

Ken this is why I said I hadn’t committed to doing skins because back in MAY or JUNE
they told us we were tee times last year I had like a 9:15 tee time the first day so I was able to
get there early and collect for the week [$75] until we see tee times its hard to commit would have
posted earlier but just got home from work

IF I get a late tee time again I have no problem running skins I’ve done it
the last 20-25 years both flights will be combine {42-43} and gross only I understand
the wife thing but mine is staying home this year

Andreas, take down my number, and hopefully we will have tee times far enough apart to run them together. Once we know tee times of each our, perhaps we can collect for a longer period of time on Monday.

I am guessing we get our tee times when we pick up packages at Super Store.
