I’ll run the skins for flights 7&8. I’ve run skins games for 6 years and pretty much do the norm which is 20,20,20,40. Full payout I don’t take anything off top if you want to tip that’s completely up to you. I don’t ask for anything I just like to have a good game and hope I win one for myself I’ll have a spread sheet for the week starting Monday. I’ll be the short dude in a black Callaway hat. Pay out every day birdies or better. See you all in a week or so!!

    Mike,

I think its awesome that you volunteer to do this, but may be hard to get a lot of participation due to such a severe difference in handicap, I mean Flight 7 is 12.3-15 which isn’t bad, but then Flight 8 goes from 15.1-27.1 which is one hell of a gap, I mean people with a 27 handicap probably don’t even make a birdie at all! Might have to do the flights separately or something, cause I know last year it was a struggle to find people to run skins in some of the higher flights and then people didn’t want to pay much!

You make a very valid point!! Any suggestions? I guess we could do 10,10,10,20 and then drop flight 8 to pars or better thoughts anyone??
I’m up for doing anything and you are probably right on the higher handicaps not wanting to dish out for only birdies or better.

I don’t think you can have one flight be birdies and the other be pars. You would probably have to just do our flight if flight 8 doesn’t want to participate. And I would rather it be 20,20,20,40 but that’s up to you.

Mike, I think you and Will both have valid points, the best bet would be to do seperate skins games, 1 pot for Flight 7 and then a pot for Flight 8! As far as the Money being 10/20 or 20/40 would be up to you and how everyone feels that’s playing and how many are in the pots! Cause I just highly doubt you get someone with a 20+ handicap wants to play in a birdies only game with people with a 12!

I now totally agree with me being in 7 if someone wants to step up and do 8 I would be perfectly fine and happy fir that. If they need help I can easily help I think we should both hang out together because it’s hard to tell who you are paying and turning money/scorecards into if it’s two flights two people. Inevitably you’ll get someone in flight 7 paying the guy in 8 then Turing in a scorevmcard and screwing up everything so if need be I can do both or if someone wants to partner up in that flight let’s do it!!!
If we break flights personally I like the 20,20,20,40 just because the pot would be small if you pay out say 4 birdies. But I’m totally open

That’s probably the best solution Mike!

The first year my friend Keith came down as a 19.6 he got in the skins and shot a 112 at Panther’s Run. But he chipped in twice on par 3’s for birdies and both held up for a cool $560. Birdies are special and I don’t think anyone wants to share their skin money with someone who wins one with par. If anyone does pars or better for flight 8 it will be a lot of work. Guys with 16-17 handicap can probably come in with 4-5 pars each, maybe more.

    Hi Mike,

I’m in flight 8 and would be willing to help out with it if that’s the route you want to go. Just let me know and I’ll follow your lead.

Travis sounds good. Here is my cell so we can go to the same area in the am. Just remember if you do want to do this range time is shorter very short in some cases. Practice is at a very minimum because you have to get people signed up. That’s why I like to take all the money on Monday if possible. If not it’s not a huge issue but honestly it’s easier for us and it keeps everyone involved. That way day two three and 4 we can hit some balls and putt some. Also remember we are there for at least an hour or so afterwords. It just depends on the finish and how many cards are entered. I like to tell people right up front take a course card and record only birdies or better thatvway I can see it easier when it is all done. You would say pars or better obviously. I will help you with everything if you need it you might already know everything and not even need my help or I might be steeling your ideas. Either way we will have a blast.
Just so everybody in our flight knows and can find me if they feel uncomfortable paying all 4 days upfront my cell is
904-524-1076. I have heard, but never witnessed the skins guy running off with money I hope that never happens, but if I do it, here is my number you can track me down.

First off thank you everyone that have sent texts and replied here. I’m not sure I’ve been apart of such a weird flight pairing. So I appreciate all the ideas. So what I’ve come up with is a straight up game. 20,20,20,40. But here is the twist. Since there most likely won’t be a ton of birdies I would hate to see a 22 handicap get cut by a 13. So to make it more palatable I’m going to take a suggestion that someone gave me and make it 3 birdies to cut. So if a 20 and a 13 have birdies on a hole and no one else does then the payout for that hole is split. Example. 3 holes paid out 600 in pot that would be 200.00 per hole. On one of the holes 2 people birdied so they split the 200.00 but on a 4th hole 3 birdies were made so that hole is cut. I will try to type something up so everyone has rules. I just truly believe it wouldn’t be worth getting in if we split the flights and no it’s not fair to pay pars and birds out of same pot and frankly that would be a 4 hour post round count up for me. I hope everyone sees this as the fairest game I could come up with. For anyone that thinks I’m out of my mind, sorry and I hope you will still play for your big payout. I can only ask that you all go around point me out and get as many people in the game as we can, so we all have a chance of making our entry fee back. Good luck and see you all Monday at World Tour.
