SKINS GAME, Barefoot Landing – Norman, Sunday, August 30, 9:00 AM Shotgun Start

$95 Includes greens fees, cart, entry to net skins game (gross score takes any tie), and CTP on all par 3’s.
-optional low gross/low net $10 each. Depending on participation may pay 1st/2nd/3rd place.
-same rules used in WA (USGA) with max 9 score.
-will use your WA HDCP (with exception below) and tees you will play in the WA.
-no 2 HDCP strokes per hole. Instead you will get 1.5 HDCP strokes for all HDCP’s
above 18.
-you may request to play with one person you know within your foursome.
-if you don’t/can’t wait around for results I can send you your winnings electronically or meet at the Convention Center.
-please include your name, WA HDCP INDEX(if you know it) and age group you will be playing in the WA.
-you can Venmo@Dennis-Daley-9, PayPal @DennisDaley745, Zelle or mail a check (contact me for address). I will not pay for any fees through Venmo/PayPal (no fees for these if properly selected)

Forgive me…but how do you have a NET skins game where the gross score cancels out a net birdie? It’s either net skins or it isn’t. In the past, operators have run a NET skins game and a GROSS skins game side-by-side.

You’re right, I should have called it a “Modified Net Skins Game”. The club I belong to has played this game for 20+ years and as a 7 handicap I’ve got no complaints on how it works out. Your welcome to join us and we’d love to have you but understand if you chose not to join us.

Could you explain how this works in a little more detail? I was considering playing but this format is confusing.

James, Let’s say there are two guys playing, Bob who is a 5 handicap and Joe is a 15 handicap. They are playing the # 10 handicap hole. Joe pars the hole which gives him a net birdie. Bob birdies the hole and wins a skin because he has a natural birdie. In a straight Net skins game neither one would win a skin. If you played both a gross and net skins game, Bob would have won a gross skin. This format basically combines the gross and net skins game together. I’ve played in tournaments where they have both the net and gross skins and there are times when the same person wins both a net and gross skins on the same hole for one low score which doubles his winnings and draws the money pot down.

BTW We are only putting in $20 for the skins game and CTP.
If you wanted to get into Low Net or Low Gross for 18 holes, those are separate $10 bets.
