Bill & Stan are volunteering (Begrudgingly) from Flights 47 – 48 and are in need of help with the skins. It’s not to hard and once you get going someone else will surely ask to help.

Hope I didn’t step on anyone’s toes for volunteering to do the Skins game for our flights and could use some help with recording the scores after each round. I would also like any feedback or question you may have. Please feel free to email me (Dennis) at, ddaley1999@aol.com, text or call me at 513-702-1820.
Following are a few pointers.
1. Cost will be $100 for the 4 days(We can change this to $50 if the majority would like). M-T-W $20, Thurs $40.
2. You can play separate days, but would prefer one payment for the week.
3. NET SKINS. Originally I planned on playing gross skins within Flight 28 (2 shot HDCP difference) but when I was asked to combine the flights it became a 6 shot difference.
4. Pay for NET birdie or better, if not tied.
5. Scores will only be accepted from the official/signed scorecard. Please show us any possible skin before turning you card into the Pro Shop.
6. If there are no skins or we have a rainout, that money will carryover to the next day.
7. If there are no skins on Thursday, we will pay all tied birdies or better.
8. If we have a rainout on Thursday, please see me before leaving the course for your refund.
9. I plan on having an electronic copy (excel) of skins each day. If you would like a copy please provide your email.
10. I also plan on having a paper copy that I will clip to the windshield of my cart the following morning.
11. If you want to stay until all scores are recorded I can pay you then or YOU can find ME the next morning for payout (with exception of Thursday).
12. If you know for certain that you will not be playing please let me know so I can remove you from the list.

I will be running the skins games for flights 35 & 36. The information for the game is below.

6. If there are no skins or we have a rainout, that money will carry over to the next day.

Cost $20 MON-WED, $40 THU, $100 total
Can pay daily or $100 on MON and be PIF’d (Paid in full)
Gross birdies or better, 2 tie all tie.
No winning birdies or rainout, pot carries over.
Must make up $$ if you were not in pot that carried over.
If no winning birdie holes on THU, all ties will be paid out.
Must have signed scorecard with birdies circled.
Not your WA scorecard which should be turned in to pro first.

Great Question for Flight 14 – 15

Dan, How do you pay out the skins? I’ve seen it where you have to win the hole outright. I’ve also seen where skin is paid (split) if two tie, but if three tie then no skin. Also, if no skins are paid on day one, will the buy-in for day two be $40 if that person did not participate day one and so on for each day.

Just glad you are taking the oar on this. Tough job and I applaud you for doing it. Thank you. If you are looking for a vote on the skin payout, I like the two tie split approach, but will participate in full from day one regardless of the decision.

Flights 3-4 Skins

$100 for the week: $20 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, $40 Thursday. All skins are gross.
I’d prefer to get the full $100 upfront. It saves a ton of time later in the week.
Bring the official scorecard to me in the clubhouse BEFORE turning it in.
Please circle GROSS birdies to make it faster.
Paid out each day unless a carry over. Like guys said above. If you don’t get in a day it carries over you pay double the next to make up for it.

Now that most of us know which flights we are in, I will go ahead and lay out the skins game for Flights 5 & 6.
The courses are: Oyster Bay, Willbrook, Prestwick & Burning Ridge

The cost for the week will be $100 (Monday-$20 Tues-$20 Wed-$20 & Thur-$40). You can pay in advance on Monday morning or as you go (daily). If for whatever reason there is a “carryover”, and you chose NOT to get in the day before, it will cost you for both days. The reason I say this is because last year, we lost Monday to rain and if you didn’t pay $20 on Mon, you had to pay $40 on Tues (obvious, but needs to be stated).

In case this is your first WA, we are only counting “gross” scores of “birdies or better” (NO PARS and no strokes). Your handicap has nothing to do with this format.

After the round, we will be set up in the clubhouse (As close to the bar as possible :-). The most important thing you should do first, is verify your score with your playing partners and SIGN THE OFFICIAL CARD. Now, If you have a birdie, eagle or better, BEFORE you turn your official card into the Head Pro, please stop by our table and check to see if your birdie, eagle, etc is good enough to win a skin. We will NOT accept a score written on the course card. ONLY YOUR OFFICIAL CARD. We also will not accept someone walking up to the table and saying “I birdied hole 14″ (not good enough).

We will only verify off of your WA scorecard. This is the safest way to ensure no one cheats (I hate to mention it but there are horror stories of this in the past).

Last year we paid out 5 skins on Tues for $568 each (carried over from Mon), 5 skins on Wed for $300ea and Thursday 2 skins held up for ~$1360ea. Good luck to everyone and all we need now is great weather.

FROM FLIGHT 33 – 34

To all, we are getting close. My name is David Baker, and I have been running skin games since I first played in 1997. And just a point of information I have never won a skin but I keep trying. It has been suggested that we run a Par 3 game which I will be glad to do if there is enough interest. Monday through Wednesday $20 a day and Thur a super skin day $40 for a total of $100 to be paid Monday morning. It is much easier to administer that way. I will pay at the end of the round or if you need to leave you will be paid the following day. I have even made arrangements to pay at the CC if possible. I am staying at Legends. My cell number is 757.580.6314. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Let me know if you have any questions.
