I would like to take a moment to say thank you to the World Am. First of all, this was my 30th consecutive year playing in the World Am. I have seen lots of changes over those 30 years, some good and some bad. But, I think the WA does a wonderful job adjusting from year to year attempting to make it better for everyone who comes.
I would also like to thank the WA for setting up the ability to donate to the Red Cross to assist the Harvey victims in SE Texas, where I call home these days. I just got home tonight. I was on the first Southwest flight that has flown back into Houston from Charleston since the storm moved thru. Thankfully, my family is fine. However, many of my work family has suffered immeasurable losses and have been displaced from their homes…likely losing pretty much everything they had in their home.
So, while I came in a disappointing 5th in my flight this year, I have so much to be thankful for. It seemed like everyone you saw at the courses and the convention center showed serious concern when they realized where I was from. I can truly say that over the past 30 years, I have met many many wonderful people at the World Am and it is a joy to see so many of them year after year. It has become a “family reunion” without all the family stress. Thank you World Am for making it possible.September 4, 2017 at 7:11 am #39974Jeffrey GoodmanParticipantWell said Rick, the WA does a great job every year, there is nothing easy about making 3000 golfers of all ages and handicap levels happy but they sure do come close and try hard. Thought and Prayers to all those suffering back in Tx, I have a lot of Co-workers in the Austin area who luckily survived the storm with minimal damage.
