In my course assignments, I have Arrowhead Lakes/Cypress. I looked up scorecard for that order and it doesn’t exist. The online cards were in the reverse order. Can you confirm the order of play for me, since I am keeping Skins game for both flight 46 and 47. Also, I need the hole handicaps, in order. If you would just type them in for me. No need type in holes, just handicaps, in order.

    Thanks!

    Ken,
Just call arrowhead they will tell you the rotation.

Arrowhead didn’t have a clue. They just had course rotation. They said to check Holiday Golf but they don’t have what I am looking for either. I need the computation or calculation of hole handicaps, based on two 9-hole courses being played. Each course has 1-9. So even if I used 1 on the front and replaced 1 with 2 as the hole handicap on the back, what do I use for 2 handicap on the front? 3?

I figured WAM has those. It’s the reason I asked because they have to know where the handicap strokes are being applied to complete the scorecards. I don’t want to do it at the last minute on the first day of play. The players would be really upset if I am not collecting money for the skins and instead trying to figure out where their strokes are applied.

Thanks David. I scrooged the pooch. It wasn’t Arrowhead, it was Piper Bay; Piper and Bay courses. I called the courses and got it straight. I didn’t think that hole handicaps would be Bay 1-9 on holes 1-9 and 10-18 for Piper holes 1-9, but that’s exactly the way the course does it. There aren’t separate handicaps 1-18 for the 9-hole set being played together. Depending on which side is being played first, they hole handicaps are 1-9 for holes 1-9 and holes 1-9 on the other course are designated as handicap 10-18. I learned something new.

    Thanks!

Not to totally confuse you, Ken, since you seem to be happy at this point, but when I’ve played other courses with three (or more) nines, we’ve made the front nine the ODD numbers (starting with 1) and the back nine the EVEN numbers (starting with 2).

    SO…….

    Front 9
    1 is 1
    2 is 3
    3 is 5
    4 is 7, etc.

    Back 9
    1 is 2
    2 is 4
    3 is 6, etc.

It’s another option with the advantage that it’s more equitable (with players getting strokes on the harder holes) and is already built-in to the course scorecard (so you can figure it out ahead of time).

BTW, if you do it the way Sandpiper suggested, wouldn’t mean that MOST of the strokes would fall on the first nine and relatively few on the back?

Thanks Wayne. I spoke with the course and they told me they just used 1-18, with one course 1-9 and the other course 10-18. Sounded weird to me because I would have done it the same way you did. It’s not going to matter though, because even though we are one of the highest handicap groups, the guys want to play gross.

    Thank you!

Ken, run them the way you think. I’m here to play golf (good or bad). If I win a Skin great, if not I’ll still enjoy the 19th at each course anyway.

Thanks Bill. Me too. By the way, BJ is running the skins for our flights. I let him have it, because he and others didn’t like the way I presented the rules and wanted to do gross only skins in both flights.
