Question. Since this is a Handicap tournament is this net skins?. I ask because handling two flights there can be as much as 2 strokes difference on wild wing and Pawley’s. One stroke on long Bay and MB Nat.
Jon CraigParticipantFunny Story. My son Had not got me anything for my birthday or fathers day. He asked if I wanted a certain table top book. I told him that was ok, just go online and get me some golf balls(i figured a dozen). Low and behold, a week later I get a box with 5 dz green Vice Pro. I like them alot. I certainly don’t have to mark them up, as I won’t mix them up with other people’s. Nor do I imagine I will find any in the woods.
Jon CraigParticipantI play in the 60-69 age group (12/13 handicap for all the courses) We had the opposite problem last year. Barefoot Norman was set up way longer than the tees we were suppose to play. I hit a lot of 3 woods into par 4’s. It was the same for everyone so I am not complaining about fairness, just complaining about not getting what I expected. I’m kinda anal so I had printed all the cards. So when I got to my starting par 3 that was suppose to be 155 and it was 187, it was a shock. And the shocks kept coming. Oh well on with the games

You are right it is an interesting Idea, but a totally wacky one also. One guy is going to affect 90-100 other players. Remember the one man or woman is in a 45-48 player flight and there are 2 flights to every course. Should the other players in the fights tip our winner for prime cuts? I like people that think out of the box, so good for you Harry, but i think this one is out of the world 🙂Jon CraigParticipantThis is commons sense, But, keep your cart in the shade. I see guys waiting for the group in front sitting in the middle of the fairway(mind you I am rarely in the middle) waiting. Figure out what you need, then go to the shade.
Jon CraigParticipantI just was curious, so I could try and figure my odds of winning a prize at the House of Blues welcome party on Sunday .
Jon CraigParticipantCopied this right from the USGA website
Status of “X-Out” and “Practice” BallsQ. May I use an “x-out” ball or a ball stamped with “Practice” to play a round of golf?
A. Our present policy provides that if the List of Conforming Golf Balls or the One Ball Condition is in effect, a practice or logo ball may be used provided the other markings on the ball (i.e., pole and seam) correspond exactly to a ball listing on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls. Balls labeled with “PRACTICE” or a circled “P”, are essentially treated as a logo ball (such as a Mickey Mouse emblem). A player’s name stamped on the ball is also acceptable. However, the original ball markings (i.e., pole and seam markings) must be readable in order for a Rules Official to determine whether that ball is on the List of Conforming Golf Balls. X-Out balls are not permitted to be used in any competition in which the List of Conforming Golf Balls or the One Ball Condition is in effect. However, if neither of these Conditions are in effect, X-Out balls may be used because all balls are presumed to conform unless they have been tested and found not to conform or are obviously non-conforming (e.g., too small or too heavy). (See Decisions 5-1/4).
Jon CraigParticipantNot only that make sure and make them tournament scores. I post when I get back to the room. Also make sure you use ESC. I’m between an 11 and 20 so 7 is the most I can take on a hole. Harry being scratch can only take a double.
Jon CraigParticipantOn 8/15 the last revision is in. They send you a form via e-mail. You give them your low 12 month index and some other info. On about the 21st you get your course assignments.
Jon CraigParticipantI think I would really screw up without my practice swing LOL. Dale has good tips, I would add one of the neck cooler cloths. They last for at least a couple of hole, also the misters(with or without a fan) feel real good. Last thing FIND SHADE to park.
Jon CraigParticipantThis is my second year 11.8 60-69. We were done before 2 every day. Even the day is rained for 8 holes at Hackler. We did hit provisionals and finished putts alot
Jon CraigParticipantBill
Thank you for your response. Bob White contacted me via e-mail and we have made arrangements for a pass. Hopefully I can say hi at this years eventJon CraigParticipantThanks Scott. I have GHIN and it does show the 12 month. I was asking because I can look at the history and it will tell me by date, So if I am hearing you correctly I should look at my 9/1 revision. Since my tourney scores are higher.
Jon CraigParticipantYes. Stayed there last year. Makes it nice to weave home :-). They are listed in the web site, but say they don’t have a rate for the tourney. I called the AM to let them know. rather than bugging them by phone I started this thread and asking Ryan or others to update his findings
Jon CraigParticipantOnly my second year, so I don’t have a closet full. I like the gift bag. Myself, I think I will like the pullover. I can’t play in a full zip. Hinders what swing I have(which is not much of a swing).
