Too many things to juggle…hourly check of 10-day forecast, mapping out courses from condo, pick out outfits for each day, packing list of essentials, get to driving range each night, list of things to buy at golf store….
I made him sign the bill and still have it! Though I have to admit, I lost many more to him. I stayed with his group at a condo for a couple years and they always made me feel welcome, Gary was a real prankster but it was always in fun. He is the only person who has ever told me I was a horrible golfer! I had to agree with him and we laughed all the time.
We both got back to the condo early one year and he kept getting my beers out or the fridge. Then when the guy Henry gets back he tells him, ‘Joe was drinking all your beer.” I do miss him and his emails that would flow out leading to the event.

I will be there!
Thanks for all your efforts Jeff, can’t image dealing with 3,000+ crazed golfers, all the best to you!
It’s like the week before your birthday party, you know you will be getting presents but it’s hard to wait…………..
Give me True Blue, Oyster Bay, Farmstead and Augusta National (I’d be willing to travel!) please.
Yeah, I know but is amazing how much better I am playing right now, just hope I can keep it up. Almost every score I have recording in the last 6 weeks has knocked my index down 1/2 a stroke. I just have to make sure that game shows up in Myrtle.
Gotta stop playing rounds till August 15th, index is down 5+ strokes and falling fast…
For all the heartache they cause? If it weren’t for the folks at the World Am, I wouldn’t waste my entire year counting the days until the 9:00am start on August 26th, where upon I will proceed to embarrass myself on golf courses I have never seen before; and to top it off, I am force to eat all the wonderful food and drinks every night at the convention center. Not to mention the gathering together of other great golfers to tell the tales of my wonderful rounds of golf, only to be caught in a lie when they produce the score sheets for each flight and my name is always at the bottom. And before you know it, it is Friday, and you are heading out to play in some crazy consolation round and spend half the time trying to calculate how many days till the next year’s World Am…..
Yeah, I will have to think awfully hard about appreciating Scott’s Tremendously Talented Team. They may start to get grandiose ideas of starting a smaller event in March to make me travel all the way back to Myrtle again… Oh wait they already did that, those dirty rotten Bast****!!
With your last name you were destined to work for NOAA! On the weekends do you sell cars?
Bring on the rain Myrtle, we will still conquer your courses!
(Obviously, I should just drink beer, but I am a red wine kinda guy)
This will be my FIFTH, which is a coincidence because it is also what I carry in my bag to ease the pain of not being on the green before my fifth shot, and to erase the memory of those 5-putt holes.
So with all that good Karma, I look to finish in the top five this year. Look out World Am, I am looking to get tapped on the shoulder at the convention center for shooting the lights out! (A man has to have his dreams.)
If I register at both places, can I play two balls on every hole and only have to record the lower score?
I am hoping for Tidewater, True Blue, Caledonia and Pebble Beach but I will settle for whatever I get, it’s the competition and the competitors that make this a memorable event.

Just went over “A Good Walk Spoiled.” Played Saturday at Falls Road and had my best round of the year, and quite possibly the best ball-striking round I have ever had — 7 pars, 8 bogeys, only 31 putts. Looks like it dropped my “trending” handicap one full stroke.
Heading to Pittsburgh Thursday for a charity event and a round with old friends. One more local tournament on the 20th, then the World AM round trip begins!!!!
Yabba Dabba Dooooooo
My countdown clock starts the minute my car exits South Carolina! Not as much time working on my game this year but I am ready to get back to the World AM! And now I hear they will have two ice cream lines, life just keeps getting better.
