Tee times did NOT help pace of play in Flight 6.

Shotgun start is always best for comradery. If they reduce the amount of people on the course, the slower rounds will be sped up. And yeah, pace of play monitoring by the courses will be extremely helpful.

To all who plan on getting into the skins pot for the week:

I tee off at 8:03am on Monday. Two gentlemen (I use that term loosely) lol, who are teeing off at 9:15am will be collecting for the pot after I tee off. If you get there early enough, please find me so I can mark you down.

If you arrive after my tee off time, please see either Craig Oby or Ryan DeAscanis. If you don’t make it a point to pay up and confirm your entry prior to teeing off, YOU ARE NOT IN FOR MONDAY!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! You can sign up on Tuesday for the rest of the week, but it’s YOUR responsibility to find one of us!!

Safe travels to everyone and see you at Crown Park!!

    Hi Mike,
I am offering just to ensure a game. I too have run them in the past, so I don’t mind. But any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since we are teeing off separately.

    Thanks

Ken, they are doing tee times this year. I think they range from 7:45 – 10am.
So until we get those, we won’t know what time we are playing but yes, we will all be on the same courses. Flight 5 will most likely tee of on #1 and Flight 6 on hole 10 (double tee).

Ken, I have mentioned in previous post that I could run this, as long as I can figure out the best way with all the tee times.

I am working on that now, if I get a plan together, I don’t mind.

    Hey Ken,
No, we don’t know yet. We hope to know by this weekend. Once the flights are announced, then someone will usually step up to offer the skins game.

I have casually offered to run it for my flight and the one that will be paired with it (i.e. 5 & 6), but let’s wait and see what we find out by Monday.

Hey Bobby, Good to see you are coming back. All the boys will be there too. I will keep you posted on what transpires with Skins. Either way, we will be having some ice cold beers together. Can’t wait!!

Excellent points made Ken. I wholeheartedly agree and you’re welcome for bringing it up.

What I really want people to know is that the WA is offering $50 off the early bird pricing of $559 to new players who haven’t signed up yet. And for those new players who have ALREADY signed up, well, I guess you all are just sol….

Looking to get your competitive blood boiling right before the big show?? This is the EVENT!!

Come out to the Wizard Sat Aug 28th, for a chance to win some moolah and tune up your “under pressure stroke”. Tee times start at 8:06 and we will be playing off the front AND back.

You will be done early enough to enjoy your afternoon. Sign up today!!!

    Simply put:

If you are a returning player, you should have a window of signing up that is the best value. Which the WA staff does.

For example, everyone who signs up early (as soon as registration opens) at whatever cost the WA staff is deemed the lowest they can allow, is eligible for the “drawings”. That is worth a tiny amount (to have the chance to win). If the WA staff opens that same time frame to “new players”, then good for them too.

Whoever you are “new” or “returning” player, if you don’t sign up by an established date, the price will increase and you will now pay MORE. That is the cost of signing up “later”.

The point in this thread is being missed as it goes on. How can the WA staff allow a discount AFTER THE FACT?? This is bad business… people are feeling like they are being cheated. Every new player who finds out that the NEXT new player is paying LESS, will be and SHOULD be pissed.

As if the inequity for someone who has played this event 15 times wasn’t bad enough. How do you explain it to the “new folks” who have already paid $559 ?? That bothers me more than the first part. Especially since I recruited THREE new guys…

I believe you have (2) years to use the $50 credit. I would hope so anyway….

Ken, Yes. That is exactly my point. We, as returning players are paying $559 (early bird, etc whatever you want to call it). AND, any NEW player signing up ALSO pays $559 (I know this from fact). Until Now, after registration has been open for several weeks, the WA staff has decided to offer $50 off the price of $559, making it a smooth $509… for NEW players…

How is that fair?? I can understand offering this deal AFTER June 3rd, but not when everyone who has already signed up, has already paid. I know the “first timers” that I have encouraged to come in 2021 are not happy at all…..

Yes, the $50 I am supposed to get for recruiting each new player, will have to wait until 2022. That has been this way for several years.

    Tommy & Stephen,
Yes you are both correct about the referring a new player and then receiving a $50 credit for the NEXT World Am. That is something they’ve offered for a while now.

Back on 4/8, I registered for this year at the price of $559.00. As far as I know, this is the lowest price offered thus far. If you read the website, the price is still $559.00 until early June. I’m not sure what you’re referring to Tommy when you mentioned “you had the opportunity to register for a greater discount than the $50.00 off full price”.

If a new player signs up today with the promo code “XXXXX” (I believe that is it), they get $50 off. Bringing their total to $509.00?? Again, as I mentioned in my initial post, is there a piece of info I am missing which can make this sensible?? Because this doesn’t seem reasonable. Especially for those newbies who have already signed up.

There’s more to this on my end, but I am curious to hear what Scott and the staff will say.

This will be a fun game and I can vouch that it will be very well run.

Sign up now and play one of Myrtle Beach’s hidden gems. Huge fairways and generous greens make for an enjoyable day at Pine Lakes!!

There are tee times early enough to enjoy the 2nd half of your day if you are like many who have families in town. You DON’T need to be present to win. If you want to play golf and get going right afterwards, we will contact you and ensure you receive your prize/cash.
