No problem, Scott. First of all, I didn’t have twenty other topics. I requested solutions for running skins in a tee-time environment. I will not promote my site from the bulletin board anymore. No problem there. I would like to ask where you were when pre-skins games before were for-profit events for so many years, despite the fact they’re gone now. You guys didn’t do anything then and allows promotion on the bulletin board.

Anyway, I am clear on what can and cannot be posted here. From now on, I am out. I will run the skins for our flights this year, but never again, unless I get a booth. It’s too much trouble, and I was only trying to get skins completely out of the bulletin board all together. What does a small booth cost? I may consider it next year.

I do have one more question. Do the World Am folks (or the sponsors) run the tournament for profit? Or are you a non-profit organization? Just wondering. No offense intended.

Ok, I have to confess. I have a solution for skins games that will notify everyone in advance, but we would have to notify everyone this year to apply online later this year or next.

I have a website that tracks golf tournaments and skins, by flight, etc. It is set up for Individual Stroke Play (Alpha, Ordinal, and Gender/Age tournaments), Best (Better) Ball, Alternating Shot, and Scramble. We are planning to at Match Play later this year.

It tracks all gross/net skins games and both, in case you want to run both in the same tournament or flight. Each person that uses it as a tournament/skins admin would have to do a little work to set it up, but from there, you can have the players pay early, either by credit card or PayPal. I can provide credit card/paypal services for you, or you can use your own solutions.

The one-month plan is $29.95. If half the field gets into skins (50 people from 100 in two flights), you would only require 60 more cents to pay for the service. The site is in its final beta testing stage, and it will definitely be ready for next year’s World Am. The site is TournamentSkins.com and I own it. It has been a project in the making for the last two plus years, because I found that no online software provider that I know of provides skins by flight, with unlimited skins entries.

If you ever want to run tournaments, my site is the most comprehensive available (complete with admin videos), and it is the only software app that will do the entire World Am skins, if needed. I will have an Apple Store app available for iPhone and Android for real-time scoring as they are posted.

I also plan to set up a forum (chat) space, similar to the World Am Bulletin Board, and we can keep our conversations totally out of the WAM Bulletin Board environment. I think some people on this bulletin board get miffed when we have so many topics on skins…Yes, even Scott Ward.

Let me know what you think. For those of you that would like to help me beta test the software, I will give you free use of the app for next year’s World Am, or a lifetime membership for the first 5 admins that sign up to beta test the app. You can either text me, or call, or email (ken_weatherford2004@yahoo.com), and I will tell you all about beta test and what I need you to do.

    Thanks!

Andreas and I are doing flights 42 and 43 as gross skins. He will be taking cash entries at 7:00 and I will be taking entries up until 8:45.

Thanks Les. Andreas have a plan. He is going to start collecting skins at 7:am and I will be there at 7:30 to collect up until 8:45, which is a litter less than one hour before the last tee time.

This way we should get everyone in that wants to be in.

Sounds viable. I have already given my name, telephone number to text, and emai.

Here it is again. All I can do is post here and hope most players see it.

I am guessing we get our tee times when we pick up packages at Super Store.

Andreas, take down my number, and hopefully we will have tee times far enough apart to run them together. Once we know tee times of each our, perhaps we can collect for a longer period of time on Monday.

Jeffrey, the official card is typically showed to the skins admin, prior to turning it in to the pro shop. World Am staff do not typically collect them. It is usually course staff.

Absolutely not, Tom. Too many people cheat with personal course cards. I caught one guy changing his scorecard prior to submitting to pro shop, so that he could collect skins.

If folks don’t want to take five minutes to submit their scores before the card is turned in to the pro shop, or you cannot text the card image to me, then I suggest folks don’t get into skins. It is not an imposition to take a few minutes to get your score for skins if you want to collect the money. As I said, a photo can be taken and texted (with all signatures on the card). It is also not illegal to have more than two signatures on the card. It is just important that player and the attester sign in the correct place, but even then no one has ever been DQ’d for having it in the wrong place. In fact, the staff has no idea whether it is your signature or not.

The tee times will be either 7 or 10 minutes apart. So figure in about an hour and a half to two hours, give or take.

Didn’t mean to start a new topic on skins. However, it was not about any one flight in particular. I was trying to get answers and therefore created another topic to get the right people to respond, Scott. If I have a topic that says Flight 42 and 43 and start a new one that addresses nothing regarding these to flights at all, why can I not start a new topic? I thought the bulletin board was for everyone to communicate and get answers. Apparently, not.

Also, I know WAM folks don’t care about skins and there are players that don’t either. So why don’t you provide a different forum, just for skins and not have it on the bulletin board? I would be happy to provide one for everyone interested in skins topics next year and keep it outside of the bulletin board, except those that must notify players that they are running skins for a flight. Everything else can be communicated in a forum I can create. I will buy a new domain name and provide the forum if everyone in skins will support it.

Jeffrey, at any time, any skins admin should be willing and able to show any player who won skins, on what hole, and how much.

Actually, we have designated people that do skins for the flights who is a flight player. In this case, it is the volunteer to run skins for that particular flight. In my case, I volunteered to run them and I would collect skins money from those that want to get into skins. World Am staff have no involvement in flight skins, at all. So, the key is that everyone, before play, know exactly who the person is running skins and that they are a flight player.

Don’t mind so much the latter part you mention, but it is almost impossible to allow later tee time players to get into skins unless they show up really early, and most people just won’t do it. If your tee time is 9:00 am, the changes are you will show up maybe an hour early, and if I run skins and tee off at 7:30, they’re basically out unless they know to show up very early.

Looks like skins my be run but the number of people getting in with be very limited.

Tom, obviously someone has kind of figured it out, but I am still waiting to get responses on suggestions. I wish the WAM folks would post email address and/or phone numbers for all flight players. That would resolve everything. However, I am sure Scott and WAM folks won’t provide that info. It wouldn’t be hard to compile for each flight because we all have email addresses in our player profiles.
