I do not want to speak for him but Josh Wurzberger was thinking of running skins in flights 5 & 6 if no one else does.

OK, courses are in, I will run skins in Senior flight 16 and 17. Unless someone else really has their heart set on running it.
To make it easy on everyone, especially me, it would be great if everyone who intends to participate in the skins game can pay in full on Monday. Should anyone want to pay by Venmo I have that as well. This also helps in those rarest of occasions when the pot roles over from the previous day, if you did not participate on the prior day you cannot join on that day. Skins buy-in will be $20, $20, $20 & $40 for a total of $100. For ease of scoring, I will combine both flights into one pot; this should make for nice payouts. I

    Typical skins rules:
    • Birdies or better on a hole to win a skin.
    • Two birdies on a hole cuts the hole.
    • Should there be a day that all skins are cut the pot will roll over to the next day.
    • On the last day if all skins are cut, I will put all participants’ names in a hat and draw 5 winners to split the pot equally.
Any birdies turned in for scoring should be done as follows:
    • Text a picture of your official scorecard with all signatures to my cell number. State in the text your name and hole number birdie was scored on. You may also present your scorecard prior to turning it in for the birdie pool scoring. Keep in mind the sooner I get scorecards, the sooner everyone is paid and can leave.
    • I will make sure to be at the course at least 30 minutes before we tee off each day so anyone wanting to participate in skins that day can get their money in.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

I like the idea Jesse but you and I both know that will not happen. Maybe put a on stroke index reduction for not getting your information in in time. It is not like they are only given a few hours, they are given 4 days and plenty of notice of when to expect it.

There will be two flights at each golf course. Depending on the number of people per flight, 90 to 100 people on the course. With that many people at the course at the same time it makes getting any warm up time difficult. Best advice get there early if you have to warm up.

A cooler is standard golf gear for Myrtle Beach and the WA. The first year I played I did not know you could bring one. On the second day the course we were playing my group saw the beverage cart on our first hole and the last. It was about 98 that day and there was no water on the course. Thank fully I had taken a couple of bottles of water out with me. Freeze bottles and use them as your ice, it will defrost very quickly.

It would be interesting to know what capacity the WA committee thinks they could accommodate for the tournament right now with the course availability. In the past when the participation for the WA was 5000 or more golfers they had a lot more golf courses in the area, with all the closed golf courses in the MB area in the last 5 years it could be difficult to grow the event much larger.

A few years back on the finale day live scoring was used. The person in our group flipped my score and one of the other players on 2 holes and only during the score card review did we catch it. Live scoring is fine for looking at during the round if you feel you need to know where you are but it cannot take the place of a scorecard.

Hear is a link to a site that you can book condos and beach houses. This will take you to all the pet friendly units. You can probably rent one of these as cheap as a hotel.

Since we do not have course assignments yet it is difficult to say what flight I will actually be in but I should be in the Senior group around flight 19 or 20. I will be more than happy to run the skins unless someone else really has their heart set on it. Below is the basic rules I use, should be fairly consistent with most flights.

    Hi Bill
It is really not that I expect pricing never to go up, it is the perceived value of the price increase. There have been price increases several of the years I have played, usually 1.0 to 2.0 percent. However, from 2020 to 2021 the increase was 3.5 percent. Now from 2021 to 2022 the increase is almost 6.5 percent. There are scenarios that the tournament is still a perceived value, but if you look at the event from a purely golfing standpoint, you can play four of the very best golf courses in the area, Caledonia, True Blue, TPC and Pawley’s Island for about $450 that time of year. That still leaves you $149 difference from this year’s entry fee. I hope you have a great time this year Bill and best of luck.

It will not be as bad as you think. Over the years I have been assigned courses with out driving ranges several times. Keep in mind, everyone is in the same boat. If you have a warm up aid like an Orange whip or a product like it that can help stretch you out before the round. You can take a hitting mate and a few of the foam balls to hit to warm up. Also depending on your tee time you can stop at one of the driving ranges going to the course. Besides, I would trade with you in a flash if I could to get to play the courses that do not have a driving range because they are that nice.
    Best of luck

I am running skins in flight 16 & 17. I will be at the course at least 30 minutes before the start of the round to collect from anyone wanting to participate.
