World Am Participants to Receive Complimentary My Pro To Go Lesson
The 30th annual Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship will begin accepting entries on April 3, and tournament organizers are doing everything possible to make sure participants bring their ‘A’ game to Myrtle Beach this August.
When players register for the World Am, which will be played August 26-30, they will receive a free golf lesson compliments of My Pro To Go, an instruction app created by GolfTEC—the world leader in golf improvement—and Sports Illustrated Golf Group.
The free lesson is part of the player gift bag, but it will be redeemable immediately upon entry.
“My Pro To Go” is a smartphone app and the free lesson will be provided by one of GolfTEC’s more than 550 Certified Personal Coaches. GolfTEC boasts a 95% success rate from its hundreds of thousands of students.
Getting the free lesson is as easy as: 1) Taking a smartphone video of the swing from front and side views; 2) Sending the video to “My Pro To Go” through the app or website; 3) Receiving a video swing lesson and drill back from a GolfTEC coach within 48 hours.
The lesson, which would typically cost $39.95, will be saved on the phone and GolfTec’s website, allowing players to reference the tutorial long into the future.
The World Am, which will attract more than 3,200 players from all 50 states and 25 countries, is played on more than 60 of Myrtle Beach’s best golf courses. A 72-hole net, stroke play event, the World Am uses the game’s most rigorous handicap system to level the playing field for all competitors.
At the conclusion of four rounds of play, all flight winners and ties advance to the World Championship Playoff, a one round shootout to determine the World Champion. Players with handicaps as low as three and as high as 34 have claimed the mantle of World Champion.
Golf is only half the fun at the World Am as tournament participants (and a guest) gather at the World’s Largest 19th Hole in the Myrtle Beach Convention to enjoy the event’s nightly party. The 19th Hole features an expansive golf expo, free food and drink, live entertainment and some of the biggest names in golf regularly appear on the main stage.
