Skin Volunteer Update

I was doing it for flight 3 and 4 every other year when George Wonica wasn’t here. Jason did it last year. If nobody steps up I’ll try and be ready. That’s of course if I’m still in those flights. I just got Lasik surgery a couple of months ago and I lost my close up vision. I get my close vision back when I get the second part of the procedure done. That isn’t til September. They had planned for the Friday before the World Am, but, it can wait til after the World Am. That being said, I will need help checking scores. As long as the game is run right and all the money is paid out I don’t care who does it.

Hmmm…JT…didn’t you hold some money back from one of your winners last year? I believe you told him he did not win a skin, he left and then the next day found out he did win. When you paid him, you held back because he did not get his money the day before (the day you told him he did not win).
So, what happened to the money he did not get?

I have never taken anything from this !!!
If your not there at the end of the day you shouldn’t get your money but I did pay him what he was owed . i’m always the last person to leave the course everyday!!!!!!

ooo by the way I don’t tell him nothing!! how could i tell him anything when he left the course after he turned in his card ?????? he know he might win a skin but decided to leave the course before all was done . I held his money till the next day and gave it to him after telling everybody that i dont hold your money for you !!!! you need to at least stick around long enough to find out if you have won one or not !!!!! So till you get your facts right Don’t be hating people that does the right thing!!!!! Thanks

JT, I am a little confused. If you do not hold money for anyone who does not stay around, what do you do with the money they would have won?

For anyone in my flight, if you have won a skin and I’m running it, you will get paid the next day if you leave. I always try to keep the scorecards that are turned in from the last round. If one guy from every group turns in a scorecard with everyone’s LAST NAME and then first name it makes it easier to go through the cards and get everyone accounted for. I like everyone accounted for to keep the game fair for everyone in the game. I don’t like paying out money to someone that didn’t deserve it. I think we all are in agreement on that. But, hopefully someone else steps up to run it in my flight. I mean, I’ll be 50 next year so someone has to take over in case I move on. Or pass on……….

anyone that wins a skin will be payed the next day !!! because I don’t like hanging on to someone else money . they do deserve it. I have changed my way because everybody can’t stay at the course like I can everyday!!!! If you win a skin you will be payed the next day. I have kept all score cards for the last 18 years . I go over all score cards every night after i get back to the condo to make sure that nothing was missed . Thanks The end !!! see all of y’all in a couple a weeks

JT, thanks for the clarification. I totally agree that everyone who has a shot at a ski needs to hang around on Thursday, but it is definitely hard to hang around on Monday through Wednesday and paying out the next day has always been the custom in the 28 years I have been playing. Good luck this year and I hope your skins game runs smoothly all week. It is hard work, and anytime I win, I tip the skins guy.

jt, when I know someone has been screwed over…no I will not leave well enough alone. You can bet on that, especially if the person is my friend and fairly new to the World Am and playing in skins games in the WA. I did not cause the drama, you did. I also am not the one who came back to play in the WA after a 3 year absence and immediately laid claim to running skins in a flight someone had been running for the previous years when you were not even playing.
You asked how many years I have played in this…well, this will be my 31st consecutive year. People who do anything shady related to running skins games has an impact on the rest of us who run skins games. There has been enough trouble with people skipping out with skins money, taking a cut off the top of the skins, and holding out paying out. Many people are afraid to even enter the skins games just because of those things.
Doubt you will see my smiling face in your flight. You aren’t nearly old enough or seasoned enough to play in my flight. But, if you want to find me, I will be at the Convention Center every night. And, who knows, if you find me…I might well be in the presence of my friend who was in your flight last year.
As with everyone, I hope you have safe travels to and from Myrtle Beach.
