I agree with the example that was provided with the leader in trouble. I’m all in favor of having drop zones that would help avoid a huge number. This was the second time I played that we actually had a drop zone and both times it was at Longbay. My first year in this tournament the head pro made his announcement and I quote “You all are flights 1&2 so no drop zones, no lateral hazards will be in effect”. Nobody is turning pro and we don’t need to our teeth kicked in for 4 days. Already playing at 6,800-7,000 it’s hard enough.

9 Max has good intentions and it’s a good idea. However with Equitable scoring you would adjust that score down regardless based on the max score you can take based on hcp. So while you’re correct a handicap isn’t based off 9 max it’s more then likely a 6 or 7 max

After considering and reading posts Flight 2 Skins will Be up to someone else. No desire for all the BS and Drama that people want to chime in with. Hopefully someone the day off steps up because I’m out.

    Jeff,

To suggest that I would run a “dirty skins pool” is ridiculous. I will have the rules for the skins game posted prior to anyone wanting to enter and play in flight 2. If someone already is handling it that would be fantastic!

Barbas just needs to add his comments to everything someone posts. Dude is a internet Troll and I guess it gives him happiness. I along with many of you run events at my club including skins and for the guys who are background noise they never step up. If they do they have a greater appreciation for what we do. I’m here to have a great time and hopeful for a chance at a clear. I will now wait for Jeff’s reply…..Don’t be so bitter Cleveland Browns have hope and LeCry James brought your state a championship a couple years ago. RELAX

I will take care of skins in Flight 2 if someone hasn’t already

    $20,$20,$20,$40

Tournament Scorecard must be used to validate SKINS

If there are no skins the last day, all eagles will payout on Thursday Only. If no Eagles then all Birdies made on the #1 HCP Hole will be paid.

    Tommy,

Great Question to post for discussion. Group of us came down from Maryland in 2015 for the first time to see what it was about. While I missed last year my buddies came down and we are all back together this year. We are spread out but most of us are playing in the first flight and we’ve had a great experience. The competitor in me wants to win but I enjoy the competition with guys of equal caliber. While my play hasn’t been great and personal success limited to a dozen of balls over the years its a great time. The Value, Location and a week at the beach what more do you need.

As far as Mr. Barbas we sparred back in forth many years ago (2015) because like he currently does he just trolls people who want to have a great time. I know many Golf Pros that are 5-10hcp and was lucky to pass the PAT to move forward. Keep grinding and good luck this year

Yea TPC Avenal greens prior to the tournament where impeccable. They tend to dry them out during the tournament. Years ago I played in a pro Am w/ Jason Gore at Avenal on the Web.com tour when they hosted it and the greens Wednesday by far better then they looked Sunday. Avenal will never be Congressional but it’s challenging in its own right and I don’t think the pros enjoy getting it handed to them. Redesign is great and the back nine is no joke. The tournament loses its Title Sponsor after this year so it’s in Jeopardy espically with no TW!

Mr Newman unless you played Congressional this past weekend you wouldn’t have seen what the greens looked like. Quicken Loans National was played at TPC at Avenal Farms down the street. From the D.C. Area and bent grass greens hold up well considering. I agree down south they can’t survive.

    BJ,

Was talking to you as we walked out of Heritage to our cars about this as well. I played in flight 2 and since we are the only 2 flights that play 6,800 – 7,000 yards I think consideration for this should be looked into it. The course set up could truly feel different each day. Our rotation was excellent despite the greens at Shaftsbury Glen. I would like to see better chances to score and make birdies. Lowest gross score in flight 2 all week was 73 and hardly anyone under par net. If you want to attract strong players and a younger crowd guarantee 2 solid courses like Heritage, Caldonia, True Blue and River Hills. I’m turning 40 in a month and Flights 1 & 2 had a younger field then most we have to have more then 95 People under 50 with a handicap from 0-5 hcp. I will continue to support the WA as its a great tournament with great people playing. I read these posts and just thankful we didn’t have any of these issues. This from a guy hitting 10 off the 16 tee at River Hills luckily my playing partners found my first ball for me as I was trying to drown myself in a pond. I did declare for you rules guys a provisional and hit different balls Titelist, Snell, Taylormade, Bridgestone and finally a NEON YELLOW VOLVIK split the fairway!

People on this board have complained about the increase of the entry they would be the people who buy PXG Irons. I would gladly punch them in the face for all the World Am Staff 🙂
