We are diehards. We played a week ago and it was 14 when we tee’d off. A little fireball in the belly and hand warmers makes us good! We are heading to Myrtle on the 21st for a golf buddy’s trip. Then hopefully when we get back we will be able to play. I can’t wait to move out of CT and head south. We are thinking 5 to 10 years if not sooner.

It really sucks you guys feel like someone was cheated out of an opportunity to advance. I am not sure if this is the place to call them out. If you knew something was wrong then it should have been called out at the course or at the very latest last evening with the tournament committee (not sure if that was done and not accepted). At the end of the day the person who may have cheated will have to live with their decision to possibly cheat someone who may not have the chance or good fortune to win their flight again. I respect all of my fellow competitors and believe they are honest and will penalize themselves or count strokes even when someone is looking or counting.

I played there today as it is my first course this week. I do not like to complain about the courses I get and always try to find something positive. I lost 3 balls today that were less than 5 yards off the fairway. There are clumps of grass everywhere, bunkers do not look like they have been touched in weeks. I will show up, try hard but will not let the conditions get to me (hopefully). I will suggest as a courtesy to your playing partners, keep an eye on every single shot or there will be lost balls everywhere.

We have done the same but already got a good deal on flights to myrtle. Rental is reserved but will continue to check pricing to see if it improves. Good luck in your search.

I think I got a great draw…1B on Monday, 3A on Tuesday and 1A on Wednesday…I like starting on either 1 or 10….it makes it feel like a normal round of golf. I guess this is a cross post for the superstitions!! Can’t wait for 2PM Friday to be officially on vacation.

We are flying into Charleston on Saturday, then drive up to Myrtle. We will relax on Saturday and then Sunday I will be playing in the touring groups tournament at Indian Wells. We do not usually get done in time to make it back to the welcome party but we will see how the day goes. In the mean time need to correct a lot of things in my swing to keep from losing 90 golf balls! Good luck to all.

Vrbo is the best option. We have used it every year. You have the ability to be as lavish or economical as you would like. I travel with wife and kids….22, 20 and 18. We stay oceanfront as they do the beach while I’m golfing. We really dont spend much time in the room as we are out doing things and once the tournament starts we go to the 19th hole and then go to play mini golf or Broadway at the beach. You may look up Caravelle on Vrbo, not the most updated but it is oceanfront and close to all. Advice for you once you know where you are playing…map out course from hotel, figure on school and work traffic. If you like to warm up before the round I would suggest getting to course at least an hour ahead. The range gets crowded about 30 mins before start. There is one person on the boards who posts a list annually of things you might/will want to pack. Good luck to you. This is the best golf tournament for the money.
