I appreciate playing with the leaders the last day but do understand the problem Scott and team would have with tee times. I remember playing in one of the top flights back in the eighties. Back then there was about 100 people per flight and after the third day I was in fourth. I showed up on day 4 and two members of my foursome brought a case of beer EACH because they were out of it. Needless to say I fell out of the top 10 (there were prizes for top ten) but I have never laughed so hard in my life. One of the guys shot his best round of the week…what the hell does that mean?
Mike SternerParticipantGreat job Bob. You are my role model!!
Mike SternerParticipantCould not agree more with Chris’ quote….must have been raised well. All the Cat courses have been in really poor shape the last 10 years. I was told they have to use them because they are in the Holiday Golf group so I don’t expect anyone from committee to respond. I’m sure it’s a financial issue but I always thought they should close down two and fix the other two up proper. Chris and I played in March tourney a few years ago and played Lions Paw which was worse than horrible but we were there because Tiger’s Eye was in “too bad of shape”. I can not image what that course must have looked like.
Mike SternerParticipantWell for me, I can’t wait until this whole damn tournament is over. This is my second year in a row I haven’t played due to shoulder injury and shoulder replacement surgery. It hurts not to play after 20+ but after the tourney I start the wait till next year thinking
Mike SternerParticipantI spoke with Chad when I signed up for the tournament the end of the week. I asked him about Broadway and he said it was still under consideration. I told him how popular this gathering had become to many of us
Mike SternerParticipantHey Bob,
It’s been a month and I was wondering hpw your shoulder is doing?
MikeMike SternerParticipantBob, I really can’t tell you how much your posts have encouraged me. I’m now at 16 weeks and have seen a lot of improvement the last few weeks. I am lagging behind you for some reason, probably you are just a stud muffin compared to me. The other thing might be the fact they put a part in me that was too small and they had to go back in 12 hours later and redo the entire surgery. My physical therapist has never dealt with that and doesn’t know exactly what that means. I am putting and just starting to chip some. The pain is finally gone and I just feel real sore. I plan to try to play this year but am not worried about it because I have a free lifetime membership to the tournament.
Mike
Mike SternerParticipantI’m at 9 nine weeks now and am progressing. Have a amazing physical therapist who specializes in shoulders. My recovery is a little behind because had to have second surgery 12 hours after the first. It seems there was a plastic clip on the replacement shoulder that was the wrong size and they had to go in and switch it out. Enjoy reading your post Bob because it helps me see whats ahead.
Mike SternerParticipantYes, it’s my right shoulder and I’m right handed. Been practicing alot.
Mike SternerParticipantWow, sounds very familiar. My surgery is Dec 11th and I am SO ready. My surgeon says 4 months which would put me swinging a club middle of April. I wish you well in recovery and keep me posted.
Mike SternerParticipantJust had to withdraw from W.A. to have rotator cuff surgery. Will still be coming to Myrtle and need guest pass to 19th hole. Will trade my son’s PGA card. Text me at 919-698-3789
Mike SternerParticipantAnyone out there tried the Kirkland ball????
Mike SternerParticipantI also have a guest pass for trade. Contact mikesterner45@gmail.com
Mike SternerParticipant20 golf courses still closed. Stay strong Myrtle Beach!!!!!
Mike SternerParticipantI think drop zones were created to speed up play, which is probably the number one complaint of World Am golfers. They also probably help the tourists who pay large sums to play and don’t want to shoot 120.
