William, I played year and the tournament was still great, but not having the 19th hole and a chance to see old friends there from past years was really missed by everyone in the group I travel with and friends we meet there each year.

I know for at least 1 or 2 years about 2 decades ago the tourney topped 5,000 entrants but what the exact total was I’m not sure.

5,136 in 2001 which was easily the highest. We are expecting the highest turnout since 2009! Thanks everyone.

2001 was my very first year participating. Was also true for Ol’ Jimmy DQ. We met on the plane heading out of Detroit into MYR.

Mike, I’m from Green Bay. Detroit was just my connection that first year. Lately I usually drive to Chicago to take direct flights. This year, I’m flying direct out of Syracuse, after dropping my baby off for her 3rd year at Syracuse University. 😀
