So this year it’s $600 bucks. 4 round of golf and finger food and a couple of beers. When will the increase stop.
March 2, 2022 at 3:02 pm #50514Mike CheesemanParticipantI for the gift bag. It must be a excellent gift bag this year.
March 2, 2022 at 7:27 pm #50515Lee HooperParticipantWILL BE THE SAME OLD STUFF ONLY IN A DIFFERENT COLOR.
March 5, 2022 at 4:30 pm #50517Bob NewmanParticipantWould not be that bad a price if we knew we were getting 4 “good” courses.

March 5, 2022 at 5:26 pm #50519Harry (The Hack) RadleyParticipantYou are incorrect it is not $600 it is only $599. I wouldn’t mind it if they rounded it up to $600 then $1 from every registered player goes to the Myrtle Beach veterans association just an idea
March 6, 2022 at 6:04 pm #50522Mike CheesemanParticipantMy bad, it’s only $599. For us Canadians that’s around $775 Canadian. I think it is pricy. We will be coming this year but probably won’t be back.
May 25, 2022 at 4:04 pm #50729David BakerParticipantMike, some of what you have put forward is correct. The cost is going up and in some case will drive people to other venues, fact of life. The WA is more than about cost of golf courses. The excitement of winning or tying your flight. I think that most people want to come for the people that they have met and made friends with. I know for me that is true. Heck, I won’t win my flight, maybe a skin, so there is still excitement. Like many I wish the WA would reevaluate and do a better job with the courses. But, has many have said, this is a business decision that has the potential of driving people away as there is competition out there, and until it hurts that will never change. Yes I enjoy the WA but I also enjoy MB. I just don’t eat out as much, cook in a day or two. But we have to make our own fun, not let someone try to spoil it. I hope you get really good courses.
May 29, 2022 at 11:32 am #50732Ed GuertinParticipantMike, I look at it differently. Any vacation I take is a break from the norm to kick back and enjoy some different surroundings. Overall, Myrtle Beach has so much to offer, especially when you look at the vast amount of beaches and water activities, it’s almost endless, and then throw in golf as a bonus. I take (4) vacations a year and this is by far the most reasonable for what it offered. As far as the finger food and gift bag, I’m not a fan of either, I would love a choice to just get a restaurant gift card(s) as they did during Covid! But, that’s just me…
June 16, 2022 at 1:57 pm #50766Christopher SmithParticipantThis tournament was something like $275 in the early 80s. Adjusted for inflation, $600 is actually cheaper than $275. I understand $600 is a good amount of money, but they’ve done a great job accounting for just normal inflation, regardless of this year’s inflation. With this year’s inflation, it should be $800+, but up until last year, $600 is a bargain compared to when this tournament started.
June 16, 2022 at 4:16 pm #50767Harry (The Hack) RadleyParticipantI am gladly paying it. I had previously organized for my son to come over from Australia in 2020 as I had not seen him in nearly 20 years and then covid hit and he was landlocked for several years. That was actually the year that I ended up being the 2020 champion but it was no consolation compared to seeing my boy.
Well once he will be visiting the USA for the 1st time and I have once again paid for his entry. Unfortunately I am on the injured reserve list and will not be playing golf for at least another 10 weeks until he arrives. Hopefully that will be enough time to Recuperate and we can have a few great rounds and memories together finally after a 22 year period of no contact. Hoping that it will be the best $600 present I have ever given him With the actual conversion rate being $920June 16, 2022 at 6:18 pm #50768Bob NewmanParticipantSo has everyone’s income increased at the same rate??
June 17, 2022 at 7:23 pm #50770Rick KimbrellParticipantAhh come on Bob. Thought you told me you were independently wealthy. 🙂
June 18, 2022 at 6:39 am #50771Bob NewmanParticipantRick, I don’t know about that but wife tells me that I can play golf as much as I like for the next 6 months. 😂😂. Hope you are doing better. I had a MRI yesterday and have lower back issues to deal with now. Gold count pretty right now. Looks like I be dealing with “something” grow more on. Ain’t life great.
July 11, 2022 at 12:58 pm #50842Jim GrinestaffParticipantI think the price is actually a good deal. You play 4 rounds of competition golf with a gift bag and entertainment every night at convention center and free alcohol and food. Plus all the other giveaways Thursday night. Not to mention first month of sign up all the prizes. Plus I have met great people all over the world. That I continue to stay I touch with and visit when I travel
I met a great person Australia few years ago and we still text.
