this is something I’ve wanted to bring up for a long time and it can lead to slow play within the round. It’s the ball searches. While I’ll be honest I’m not always watching my playing competitors ball because once I swing, the wheels start to turn and my brain starts to focus on the next shot. Everyone needs to be aware of the 2 minute ball search. Ball searches can take me out of my game rhythm and cause the group to fall behind. Especially if there’s more than one ball search happening on a particular hole. Sometimes I want to speak up and say loudly “2 minutes people” but I also don’t want to upset others. I know it’s hard to give up and accept a lost ball somewhere and take that stroke penalty but please people, be aware of search times. As Jack once said, “pace of play is also about being considerate to others”. I myself am a fast player and probably don’t take enough time searching for a ball but I’m always aware of holding up the group or a group behind us. Be considerate, thanks for reading this and best of luck everyone

With a lot of players with the Garmin type watch or even exercise watches it is not hard to time the search. I for one, also have a stopwatch in my bag. Also keep in mind, that once “a” ball is found, within the 3 minutes, if player was a distance away, he is allowed a reasonable time to get there to identify it. Another note, it should be an identity “mark” on n the ball
