To all the Flight 3 & 4 Skins participants:
Below will be a summary of the skins results for our flights. I realize that some of you were probably wondering through the week and I apologize that this didn’t get communicated sooner (tee times and my inability to post on the BB during the week are to blame).
Monday – Leopards Chase – 5 Skins for $232 each
Tuesday – Diamond Back – 5 Skins for $236 each
Wednesday – Wachesaw – 8 Skins for $130 each
Thursday – True Blue – 2 Skins for $1220 eachCongrats to all the winners. As usual, had a great time. I really enjoyed seeing old faces and meeting new people as well. Thank you very much to Eric Holden, Josh Werzberger and Craig Oby for helping me run the game for everyone. Without them, it would have been far more difficult.
Looking forward to 2026!!!

June 11, 2026 at 11:38 am #54411george hutchinsonParticipantHey Ken, are you doing a pre tournament skins game again this year?
June 25, 2026 at 4:49 pm #54448John HessParticipantKen,
How did you orchestrate a skins game last year for flights 3&4 since there is no gaming in South Carolina. Can you share with the rest of us. I miss not having skins in my flight and if unable to hold a skins game I don’t believe I will be playing this year in the WA after competing 14 years.June 26, 2026 at 8:26 am #54450James McLeaParticipant“QUOTE”
South Carolina has some of the strictest gambling laws in the country. However, under state code, activities where skill predominates over chance (such as a golf tournament) are not legally considered gambling, provided entry is not mandatory and payouts are proportionate to skill.
Here is how you can participate safely:
Optional Buy-Ins: The skins game must be completely voluntary; players cannot be forced to pay a mandatory fee to enter the tournament just to play.
Social/Amateur Status: According to the USGA, casual skins games with friends do not interfere with an amateur’s status, provided the entry is optional. (Be aware that the NCAA also has strict rules for collegiate players regarding accepting cash/gift certificates).
Commercialization: Courses and event organizers in SC routinely host optional, day-of-event skins games as part of entry fees for outings and leagues. However, businesses and organizers cannot act as “bookmakers” or take a house cut/rake of the pot.
As long as these are followed golf skins games are legal.

June 27, 2026 at 8:39 am #54454Ken DelaneyParticipantGentlemen,
My apologies for the delay in responding to this thread. I haven’t been keeping up with this and when/if I did hop on here, I obviously missed the questions posed in April & June. My bad!!I am happy to run the skins game for whichever flights I end up in. That being said, I am uncertain whether I will be in the 50-59 division or drop to the young guns this year. Rest assure, when I know that detail, and the flight assignments come out, I am willing to be the guy if no one objects.
As for the gambling aspect of it, I plead the fifth and I would refer you to James McLea’s comments up above. 🙂
Safe travels everyone!!
June 29, 2026 at 2:20 pm #54460John HessParticipantThanks Ken for your response. One other question. The golf courses do not want the exchange of money (skin entry or skin payout) on their property. They will ask you to leave the property and not let you play.
June 29, 2026 at 3:59 pm #54461shane millerParticipantI might be in flight 3 this year. last few years I was in flight 2. I actually ran skins for flight 1 and 2 last year. Never had a problem last year. If Ken is not in the 49 and under this year, I am willing to run skins for fight 3 and 4, since I will most likely be in this flight. Ken, If you are, I am willing to help you if you want the help.
Thanks,

Since moving up to 50-59, my handicap is virtually the same, and I have run the skins in Flight 10/11 or 11/12 the last 5 years. This year, my good pal Scott Hall from Roanoke will not be playing because of some health issues. He always helped me keep track, sort and count money daily. If you happen to land in my flight, I would absolutely welcome you to assist me this year in Scott’s place if you wish.
Most of the guys are repeat players annually and already know me. Having played with you in years past, you will certainly fit right in for sure! Feel free to reach out to me directly if you play in the 50+. 717-810-7401…See you in 59 days!!!July 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm #54493Ken DelaneyParticipantJohn,
I have never encountered a Golf course pro etc tell me to exchange/hand out money off the property. Now I know by reading some of the comments on here that perhaps the laws have changed in SC?? I can’t attest to that (I don’t live there). But, unless they specifically ask me to NOT do that, I am going to proceed as usual. And with the availability of electronic methods, it can easily be a “cashless thing”.
Hey Chandler, thanks for reaching out. I would be more than happy to assist you if we end up in the same flight etc. Glad to hear you’re coming back. I remember Scott Hall!! Played with him a few times as well. Please give him my best!! I hope things get better soon.
Take care,
July 31, 2026 at 11:48 am #54535Chandler WellsParticipantHey Ken,
I will be at about 6.0, and probably in Flight 10-11 as in he pts 4 years. Scott Hall will be down and probably making an appearance once or twice before or after the rounds. He just won’t be playing golf. I will pass it along in case he missed the post! See you in a month!

August 11, 2026 at 10:11 am #54591JOHN HERNDONParticipantI can vouch for Ken, having played rounds with him and receiving money. It was a simple process and my money was in my Venmo before I even got home on Thursday. Many of us can vouch for Ken. There aren’t many better.
August 11, 2026 at 11:12 am #54592Ken DelaneyParticipantThank you John!! I appreciate the kind words.
Chandler, what’s happening?? It looks like I will be with the young guys again. Trying to see/hang out some buddies that aren’t 50 yrs old yet. And I am still under the impression that I can hit it as far as guys 30 yrs younger than me lmao 🙂
I am sure we will catch up at the opening party or at the 19th hole. Good luck this year and I can’t wait to see everyone!!
August 11, 2026 at 11:17 am #54593JOHN HERNDONParticipantPD Ross, my best friend and cohort, is moving to the 50 yr old flight this year but mine isn’t until December so I get to hang with the 49 and under crowd one more year. If you’re staying down we’ll get to enjoy the flight mix 1 more year. Next year, I’m heading to the mid senior flight. Wow! Hard to believe.
