Are the folks who run the World Am going to make sure they DON”T PUNCH THE GREENS the WEEK BEFORE the tournament??

Last year was a Fu*&ing embarrassment. What should have been my best course of the week was the WORST because they Punched the greens shortly before we arrived and didn’t roll or sand em.

Truly was the worst round of the year last week. If I had paid 150 for a practice round I would have been Bullshit!

    Billy,

Don’t you just love those 1 – 2 foot tap-ins sitting directly on top of or up against a punch hole or 4 footer that hops 2 different ways?

Could have been like the year Barefoot Norman greens were punched and “top dressed” with sand. Top dressing would have been nice. These, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of loose sand covering the greens…not just filling the holes. I have played on sand greens years ago and they were at least playable. These were a joke. Footprints everywhere to putt over and thru.

    Sir Rick,

Have played on sand greens a couple of times. Interesting experience but nothing I cared to make a habit out of. Was the Norman round like putting on waste bunkers? Likely requiring a visit to a nearby pub for a pint of one’s favorite ale?

I hope they get it right this year, there was a bit of controversy in last years 5th and final day. I know the womens division had their handicaps adjusted I believe. My Friend Shannon won the flight and said something about adjusted handicaps. Keeping my fingers crossed this never happens again or the air rated greens.

    Maci,
The World Am staff do a pretty good job monitoring the caps and catching sandbaggers.
People getting their caps adjusted are playing better than they should on average.
The Greens being punched is something the WA has control over But people trying to cheat is something they can’t control.
