Ok, how does anyone run skins if we have tee times? This means that even the guys that have tee times at 9:00 have to be at the course on Day 1 by 6:30 am. Even then, how can I notify every player that they must show up 1 hour before the first tee time? No contact info, means I cannot get that info to players that are playing earlier or later.

Anyone know or have suggestions? Even if I tool electronic payments before the tournament, I still have no contact info to let the players know. The only method is this bulletin board, and most players do not come here.

I’m struggling with the same issues Ken.

Tom, obviously someone has kind of figured it out, but I am still waiting to get responses on suggestions. I wish the WAM folks would post email address and/or phone numbers for all flight players. That would resolve everything. However, I am sure Scott and WAM folks won’t provide that info. It wouldn’t be hard to compile for each flight because we all have email addresses in our player profiles.

One of the reasons I have been inclined to pass on skins this year. Too many questions about how to fairly run a skins game. Works best when there is a shotgun start. Much too hard in those running the game with tee times. A hard job made exponentially harder.

Don’t mind so much the latter part you mention, but it is almost impossible to allow later tee time players to get into skins unless they show up really early, and most people just won’t do it. If your tee time is 9:00 am, the changes are you will show up maybe an hour early, and if I run skins and tee off at 7:30, they’re basically out unless they know to show up very early.

Looks like skins my be run but the number of people getting in with be very limited.

Last year, the first with tee times, did present a challenge in running the skin game. And to some extent participation was smaller, maybe covid had something to do with that, but this year we are back to bigger fields. I was able to arrive early and was able to collect from people who wanted to participate. So yes it is more challenging but can be done, it just requires some more time on our part.

Ken – Sharing emails and/or phone numbers of your flight or 3,500 people is never going to happen. We will never share private information of any player especially to help operate a skins game we have no part in.

Please for the sake of everyone attempting to navigate this bulletin board keep your skins topics in one place instead of creating a new one for every aspect of your game.

Some of us could do not really care about the skins and it completely taken over the bulletin board. Thanks Scott for trying to get them in one spot. The best part of tee times is not having to listen to 5 minutes of the skins guy every day.

Has anyone heard someone running skins in Flight 46

Bob, interesting that you think everyone who runs a skin game is a pain in the a…. There are plenty of people, whether you chose to acknowledge it or not, that enjoy the skin game. You don’t have to play in a skin game, that is your choice. Maybe you should spend less time concerned about the skin game and keep your stupid remarks to your self.

David, I guess that some people don’t believe in “live and let live”.

Didn’t mean to start a new topic on skins. However, it was not about any one flight in particular. I was trying to get answers and therefore created another topic to get the right people to respond, Scott. If I have a topic that says Flight 42 and 43 and start a new one that addresses nothing regarding these to flights at all, why can I not start a new topic? I thought the bulletin board was for everyone to communicate and get answers. Apparently, not.

Also, I know WAM folks don’t care about skins and there are players that don’t either. So why don’t you provide a different forum, just for skins and not have it on the bulletin board? I would be happy to provide one for everyone interested in skins topics next year and keep it outside of the bulletin board, except those that must notify players that they are running skins for a flight. Everything else can be communicated in a forum I can create. I will buy a new domain name and provide the forum if everyone in skins will support it.

David, I never called anyone anything. But I see you are running one so I guess you know best. Every year with the shotgun starts, I had to listen to the spill from the skins guy making sure everyone was in. One year at the legends, he interrupted the Pro just as I asked a question about “the rules of the competition” and before he could answer, he gave the mic over and never got back to what he was disposed to do. We played that day with WRONG instructions. This is a tournament and that’s what I pay to participate in. So just don’t bother to ask me please.
