The tournament sounded good on paper but it wasn’t. Too slow. How can a round of golf take over 5 hours? The courses were too wet. I can’t imagine why a golf course would have balls plugging in the fairway or rough. Greens at legends were terrible. Last day had to drive 1 hour and a half to course. The food at the convention center was not good. Way too crowded.
Like i said sounds good on paper but this is my first and last time.

😪😪😪 Sorry your so sad! Enjoy playing the same boring course back home. Yes slow Play has always been a issue but the majority of return players just take it in stride. As for the food……well since I am on vacation I just go eat before I go to the convention center.
Chances are you didn’t play well and that has left a bad taste in your mouth. Many people think they will just come in and win. And when they don’t then they blame everything but themselves. It is tournament golf and having to putt out on every hole takes time.
Like I said enjoy your week of boring golf back home next year.

    Bob,
Sorry you didn’t have a great time.
Tournament golf is not regular golf. Expecting 4 hour rounds is not being reasonable.

As for the courses being wet you can blame Mother Nature for that. They got a lot of rain the week before we got there.
My biggest gripe is my best course Grande Dunes punching the greens to close to us being there and the greens were F*&king TERRIBLE!

I wish I played better but I still had a great time and enjoyed the groups I had. I actually thought the convention center was slower than usual and if you weren’t trying to grab food right at the opening it was no big deal.
The lack of vendors was a big change from the past few years.

But I don’t go to the World Am because of the 19th hole I go for the competition and friendship.

Life’s to short to sweat the small things!!
I will hopefully be returning in 2026 to do better than this year

What?!?! Tee times didn’t automatically make rounds go 4 hours? Obviously I am being sarcastic. 3 of my 4 rounds, the group behind us were two to three holes back and no doubt was holding up the course. My fourth round, it was a 5 1/2 hour round. I take it in stride as Billy stated; it is expected in this tournament regardless if it is tee times or shotgun.

Monday at 19th hole was a madhouse and lines for food were long as usual. The other three days, the lines were minimal except for the first two booths where most walk in during the first hour. The other booths had very quick lines. And for the most part, I thought the food was better than normal especially the soup. The food is never going to be high quality and one can’t expect it to be.

On course conditions, I will just comment on the length of rough found on some courses. I know they received a lot of rain but many of these courses with wet fairways were able to have the fairways at reasonable levels even if they were muddy so they have had mowers on them. Why have US Open rough at resort courses? Cut the darn things so not only WAM participants can find and hit their balls but paying customers all summer long can enjoy their experience.

Not sad just disappointed that the tournament was run so poorly. I did play ok but the inconsistency of the course each day was disappointing

    Bob,

You played the same courses as me. I will back you up on the rough at Blackmoor but the remainder were not bad. I’m not going to try to convince you to return because that is your choice. Mud on the ball, sure. I made my feelings known about Brick Landing but who’s to say we get the same courses next year or mother nature intercedes before the tournament. Just saying.
