I was looking as I didn’t see dates for Q school or tournament in early March that I have played in and enjoyed for many years. I called and was advised that they wouldn’t be having Q School this year. I was advised it is a busy season for the golf courses with package golf and they couldn’t get courses interested in hosting. That is very sad as someone coming from upstate New York and snow arriving tonight I always enjoyed the March tournament. It gave me a break from the winter months and catching up with friends and also playing a tournament. It was always well attended so I don’t think I will be the only one disappointed. I have already chatted with a bunch of guys and we will look to plan something else to spend our money on. I thought the purpose of Myrtle Beach Golf Touriam was to encourage tourism to Myrtle Beach. Whoever made the decision to end this tournament has no clue what is going on. Truly sad. John

I wonder if they are having trouble getting a title sponsor? I guess I’ll chalk it up to another poor decision by the new leadership at MYR Golf Tourism.

I am more concerned about any increases in entry fees for the World AM. If that continues to increase many people will start considering alternative
ideas for a golf trip. I realize everything cost more but sooner or later many of the older people will be forced to just stay home. I started playing in the world AM in 2008. And overall the cost has almost doubled since then. Food, lodging and travel all have gone up so the entry fee is only part of the equation.
Maybe the tournament committee will explain this decision to those that feel left out of the decision making. They wouldn’t do it just to be making changes unless they absolutely had to.December 2, 2025 at 3:36 pm #54229Frank PintoParticipantI too am equally disappointed in the cancelling of the Q School for 2026. I’ve been supporting the World Am and the more recent Q School for over 25 years. The Bulletin Board was meant for golfers and the committee persons to correspond in a congenial manner and discuss all things golf and tournament related. It would behoove for us to hear from a committee member as to the reason(s) for the cancellation. I think you owe it to the thousands who have supported you all these years. Personal touch means a lot. Please.

The World am sure isn’t what it used to be:( I will be surprised if we’re ever given a reason. Hope the tournament in August gets more geared up for golfers. Last years convention center venders was a sad sad sight.
