“Sea Trail – Turd/Byrd”
“It’s pretty pathetic that a course host a tournament when their greens are still healing from being aerated but it’s even worse when a course is to damn lazy to even rake the bunkers so they are somewhat playable, this course needs to be removed from the rotation!”

I agree that they should not have aerated greens right before World Am as it results in comments like below. If not aerated, the Byrd course is in decent shape as the greens were replaced a few years back. Currently, the Jones course is closed as it is undergoing new greens and other improvements. The latest is that it could reopen in a month or two – depends on weather. The resort had significant financial problems a few years back but has a new owner for last few years (A Chinese businessman, Mr. Pan). He has invested slowly in rehabbing the resort and several improvements have been completed to the golf courses and the Convention Center, etc., and others are being completed at a modest pace. The rental villas like mine are mostly well maintained and resort guests can also play many of the other fine courses that are located close by.

Not only had the greens been aerated, they were not mown (extremely slow and grainy) and the pins looked that they hadn’t been moved in several days. I would recommend Brunswick Plantation.
