This post is not to ruffle feathers but is also a little perplexed at the options we’re given right now. We missed a round last year and we’re given a 9 hole rain check by the course. This year, we were given a voucher by our last 2 courses. However, we can’t use them 4 months out of the year. That’s ridiculous and also doesn’t make sense. Why is there not an option to give players a discount credit for next year? People come from all over the country to play in this event and aren’t coming all the way to Myrtle Beach to play golf on a random trip. This handcuffs them but also just takes money from active participants. Why is this the only option?

Ridiculous…. And I understand weather concerns and safety, but to make the decision on Tuesday was way premature… looking now, golf may be playable tomorrow, might not but I’d like it to at least be a possibility… and to cancel after 20 min today was horrible… it didn’t rain again for at least 2 hours (heavy) and I know Lightning was outside the 10 mile window. (I have a warning system on my phone) but overheard guy at counter say let’s get em out of here.

I’ll be back because I love the competition and all the friends I’ve made.. However could have been managed better and taken care of us differently (entice us to come back rather than rain checks to courses I most likely won’t use, because if I’m down in Myrtle it’s for this tournament)
John great meeting you, we will play again!
Friends are the number one reason I keep coming back.

If the rain checks don’t have your names on them, you can try to sell them on line. I had to do that a few years ago and got a little bit back.

The ball was dropped badly on the extremely premature call to cancel the thursday round….there are several things that need to be looked at and addressed moving forward with this event

Looks like only 3 courses didn’t get round 3 in, River Hills, Barefoot Fazio and Colonial Charters. I think it was a great call cancelling Thursday based on the weather, it will take the courses at least a day to dry out, pick up debris, and make them playable again. I live on a course up in Wilmington NC which wasn’t hit as hard as MB and came home last night, and our course doesn’t expect to re-open until Friday afternoon. The alternative is we would all be playing and complaining about cart path only, losing balls in temporary water, maintenance workers in the way on every hole, etc 🙂

This is something we can agree on. Safety is one thing but we are sitting here now with vouchers for golf courses after paying $600 and they won’t let you play in peak season. This is bad on numerous levels.

My understanding from the email is the vouchers may be used today, if the course is open. Go play and enjoy the uncrowded conditions and fast round 🙂

If anyone’s still in town and wants to sell their raincheck(s) before you head out of town, let me know. Keep in mind that I am a local and get good pricing on many of the courses but give me a shout and we’ll see if we can make it happen.

As the old say goes hindsight is 20/20. I believe they made the right call for Thursday rounds. The storm could have been much worse. As far as vouchers vs credits its 50/50 you can’t make everyone happy. A credit locks you in for next year and if you can’t come you lose it. I don’t see an expiration date on the voucher so it is a more versatile option. There are courses open today and can still get practice round prices so fine a course and go play.

I can play them prime season for $32, less when they’re valid. I’d give you $40 for the two of them.

I live in Surfside Beach, which is 25 minutes from you. I’m working (from home) today. Were you planning on heading south for anything before you leave town?

No chad…..it was ridiculous to cancel thursday round on tuesday. The tournament is paid and scheduled for 4 days…..there was no reason play was canceled today.
