Hey Mike in in flights 33-34 glad to hear you want to do the skins I ran them for years and really don’t want to anymore.Do you plan to run both flights together?that’s how I always done them it just makes for a better pay day.I have seen where some guys are going to raise the daily fee up to 25 or 30 with 50 on Thursday.just some info for you what ever you decide is good by me.if you should need any help I’m available. Thanks for doing it.
Hole no.1 is very rarely the number 1 handicap hole on the course,I would hate to be in the top 4 and have to start on the hardest hole and by luck of the draw one of the other top 4 got to play the course as it was laid out.they get to build a little momentum heading into those tough holes where as I might make a big number on that 1 handicap and wreck my hole round.I’ve been lucky enough to have been in that top 4 paring and I’ll tell you it is definitely a another level.Just my two cents.
Nobody wants to play a course that’s in poor condition (or worse)but you all gotta understand a few things. There are only so many courses available to host the tournament and there are over 3200 players I don’t think they can cram every one on to the top 10 courses. And before you start thinking that there are far more available courses then 10 obviously there are but a large number of them don’t want the wa playing on them or there price point is so high that it would push up the entry price so high that none of us would want to play.so if you have to put up with a course that is sub par remember that everyone is playing the same conditions that day and the ones with the best attitude that day will probably play the best.By the way I’ve been playing 24 years now and have played courses from pristine to pretty rough.Go to the 19th hole afterwards eat drink and relax.
Ok since no one has volunteered to do skins for our two flights I will get it set up.Here is how I plan to do it.I’m going to ask that everyone get to the course early to get in the skins pot as my tee time is 8:03.I have talked to the head pro at the River Club and they are ok with me putting a sign up sheet in the pro shop for everyone to sign up. Here are the rules, you must be signed up before you start playing Monday and you must be paid up immediately after your round on Monday.I will be in the club house after my round on Monday to collect your money.$100 dollars for the week 20-20-20-40.Ties and rain outs carry over to the next day,in the event that there are no winners on Thursday everyone that is still at the course will be put into a drawing and we will draw 5 names and the money will be split evenly to those 5 people. Please tell anyone you know to try and get there early to get signed up.And again if anyone else wants to do this I will gradually hand it over. Everyone play well and we will send someone home aWinner.
That probably won’t work now with the tee times unless someone with a very late start time does them.I have been doing them in the past but really don’t want to this year as I have an 8:03 start on Monday. But will if no one else does.
Hey Robert I might end up doing skins in my flights if nobody else wants to ,doing skins this year is going to be very time consuming,I’m going to call and see if I can get the last tee time on Monday that way I’ll be there for everybody to have a chance to get in and like you said collect for the entire week on Monday.i think that’s the only good way to let everybody have a chance to participate.Just my thoughts.
If no one else wants to do them I will take care of it ,I would prefer some one else do them.flights 37-38
All right since no one else has showed any interest in doing the skins in 34-35 I will come to the corse on Monday prepared to take care of the game.the game is out lined above but here is the rest of the story, I will start out in the club house where I hope you all will come find me if not I will be outside tracking you down,I prefer to collect daily but will take the 100 on Monday (I don’t like carting all that money all wk).i will be back in the club as soon as my round is over you will need to bring me ether a singed and attested tournament or a course card with all 4 singutures on it. For the par 3 tournament the cost is $50 for the week long tournament, the payout is first place 50 percent 2nd -30 percent and 3rd 20 percent.last year we had $1300 in the pot and we had a clear winner for $650 and a 2 way tie for2nd and they got $325 each.so for this I will need the $50 on Monday and then I will need the same cards as the skins game.any questions or comments don’t hesitate to ask.
I have posted that I will do 34-35 if no one else wants to
All this stuff is why I make it simple if no clear winners on Thursday, draw 5 names from everyone that has taken the time to hang around and divide the money equal ways.just a side note in all the years that I have done the skins I have never not had a winner on Thursday.so to all you skin guys let’s just send someone home a winner
As stated in my other post I will be available to do the skins in my flights, probably 10.2 mid senior.
I will be available to do the skins in my flights this year if needed.I should be in at 10.2 in the mid senior division, same as last year.i will also do a par 3 week long tournament as I have done the past few years, this gets more popular every year. I would like to hear from the guys that were in my flights last year and let me know what you think.Look forward to seeing everyone.
Hey Jeff I have been doing a par 3 game for the last few years as well but I run it for the hole week as a 4 day tournament and add all 4scorestogather and pay the 3 lowest total scores pay winner 50 percent 2nd 30 percent 3rd 20 percent.Seems to keep interest and fun to see where u stand every day.Just an idea for you and I get pretty good participation.Good luck to you ole buddy hope to run into you next week
I want to thank everyone in flights 29 and 30 that participated in the skins game.We had a total of 14 skins paid out to 13 different people and we a hole in one on Tuesday by Brian Atchley that took the hole pot,so congrats to Brian. We also had great participation in the par 3 tournament which was won byDan Fabbri who had a total of 52 which was 1 over for the week and paid $600.00,great playing Dan.And thank all of you who tipped me it was very appreciated.Iook forward to seeing you all next year.and as always we sent some of you home winners.Thank you
In the past I usually have ran some type of game along with the skins.the most popular of these has been a par 3 tournament.everybody must sign up on Monday and we keep track of your scores on all par 3 for the hole week and lowest total score wins.the cost will be $40.00.and I will pay 3 places with the purse split 50/30/20.let me know what you think. As always “let’s send somebody home a winner”
